Heated Steering Wheel
Heated Steering Wheel
Hey yall
My wife has an autoimmune disorder than affects here fingers in the cold. I'm trying to find a good list of SUVs with heated steering wheels. I see a lot of the German SUVs have them.
Anyone else have a heated steering wheel? (US Only)

I know you said SUV's but my wife's Optima has the heated steering wheel. I would assuming any of the higher model SUV's from KIA or Hyundai would have them. I know the Mercedes GLE and GLC have it as an option (harder to get). The Jeep grand Cherokee also has it as an option and it's standard on the SRT-8 version. Ford edge and I believe the explorer has the option for heated steering wheel. 2017 Nissan Rouge also comes with it as an option. Certain Chevy models have them. The suburban I rented (2016 model) had the heated steering wheel. I

Infiniti QX60 and QX80 has it, and I think the Nissan Pathfinder and Armada can also have it. Not sure if the new QX50 will have it when it comes out, but I don't see why it wouldn't (but the 2017 doesn't have it).

I’m going to take a guess and say she has reynauds syndrome/disorder?
I’ve had a heated steering wheel in 5/8 of my last vehicles and I am absolutely hooked on it. I don’t have a particular disorder but my fingers get cold and literally take forever to heat up and i hate gloves so I’ll take a heated wheel any day of the week.
Now if you’re looking for a crossover with a heated steering wheel, you are asking at a VERY good time. Just 3-4 years ago it was extremely rare to find one in a non high end luxury crossover. You can now almost get any current crossover with one. Even subarus have heated steering wheels. I’m literally having a hard time thinking of new crossovers that DON’T offer it at least at some trim (in Canada we get it on most mid trims while you guys usually have to go to the top trims from what I’ve noticed). The only ones that come to mind are HRV, CHR, Juke, oh and RDX. You can get it in like everything else.
My 2 favorite features are heated steering wheel and cooled seats. Absolutely hooked on both.

^^ I agree, funny because years ago before I had a vehicle with a heated wheel I though there was no reason for it. But once you get used to it you realize how great it is. Our previous Lexus SUV (2015 RX F Sport) didn't have it, for some reason it wasn't available with the F Sport wheel and my wife especially missed it..
Now when we're shopping for her vehicle it's one of the first things she makes sure it has..

Lol whenever I mention it to people who’ve never had one before I get a reaction of “pussy mixed with spoiled princess”, but when I mention it to people who’ve had one or currently have one the reaction is always the same, once you go heated steering wheel you never go back lmao.

Bingo. Her's is really bad, too.
Really? US Spec?

For the 2 weeks of winter we got here in Houston it sure would've been nice. Lowest I had to leave the house, was 22*.
Jump up a tier & stuff like the S-class has heated wheels & heated armrests (door & center console)

But you can't get these features in Texas at the dealer; You have to custom order. We have no problem doing that, of course, but I think it's funny.
Then I sit there and try to explain why it’s so nice and look even more like a pussy so I just give up and say if they had it they would understand
I’m really sorry about that, my hands and feet also take REALLY long to warm up when cold so we thought I might have it too so I fully empathize with her on it. Also yes even US spec for the most part. Now you guys do have some slight variations vs us here. Like for example we can get a heated steering wheel on the base model santa fe sport but you guys have to upgrade to the top trim and the TLX here has a heated steering wheel but it was previously (currently?) not available in the states either. Similarily the tucson offers it in the middle trim here but not at all in the states. So I went to see if they offered it in the rav4 and Forester like they do here and yes you guys have that option too.
So it seems to me that for the most part you guys get it too but more towards top trims and in some (very few) cases it isn’t offered there but very possible to select something mainstream with that option these days.
Just an aside: Do yourself a favour and go check out the Sorento (especially in SX-L trim). Incredibly surprising build quality with cool touches like felt lined bins, acoustic glass on all front windows, suede headliner that even covers the pillars (pay attention to this one when shopping and you’ll see that many manufactures cut costs here), nappa leather seats...etc. Honestly was more impressed sitting in the Sorento SXL than I was sitting in an MDX advance, not that the MDX is bad but just that for starting out 25k cheaper and topping out 25k cheaper it’s impressive. Though again we can get it on the middle trims and you guys have to opt for the top trim (but at least you also get cooled/ventilated seats and living in texas I am sure that would be handy!

Okay, I live in Buffalo and it gets FN cold here in the winter so after being out on the ski slopes all day patrolling, the best warming feeling I get is through my BMW's steering wheel.
Right 1000%. Naturally it is the fingers that get the coldest because they stick out the most (i.e reason for mega shrinkage) so I literally can heat up faster when I have a heated wheel. It’s not really a pompous feature as much as people who’ve never had one seem to think it is.
my wife also has A/I disorder which started with reynaulds (blue fingers when it's cold)... so i know all about that... seemed so rare 10 yrs ago but i see it more and more nowadays... i'm assuming gloves and a remote start don't help enough since the steering wheel is still ice cold in the cold mornings???
IIRC the Caddy XT5 SUV has heated steering wheel... i had one as a loaner when they had by Vagon in for service...
