The omission I couldn't believe was no auto on/off headlights. Even my 14 year old Pontiac had them. These items are somewhat annoying but offset by other inclusions. This is the first car I have ever owned that I hopefully won't have to rip the stereo out after two weeks.

Also should have had power folding mirrors and power tilt/telescoping wheel.

I know I know, someday we'll be saying to our grandkids "back in my day, I actually had to turn the headlights on and off manually."

Auto off only turns off the lights when you turn the engine off.

auto on is when the lights turn on by themselves when it is dark.

I hate to be the only one, but I hate auto on/off lights, because I believe that I'm smart enough to turn on my head lights when it's dark or in bad weather conditions, and I hate the look of the light being turned on during the day time.
Exuse me if I'm the only one, but I love this car without auto on/off lights

Does anyone know if the 04 headlights, if left on, will turn on with the keyless entry like the 99-03?

EmuMessenger,
Yes, the headlights, if left on, will go on, if left on using the keyless, exaclty like the previos models.
I believe that in Canadian models, TLs come with auto on/off lights, and as I remember, the fog lights in the American version works as the auto on/off light.

My 98 Avalon Has Auto on Headlights, but I rarely use that feature, I just always use the Headlights on, Because every time the drivers door is opened, the headlights turn off, so I have never bothered to touch the headlight controls.

geesh. I think that for the bargain price of just over 32K, this is a darn fine car! I see no equivalents to it on the market, G35 being the closest thing, but a lot uglier and Nissan-built. I think I wouldn't complain even if this TL didn't have power seats. Very nicely executed.

True it is a bargain and won me over the G35. However in my opinion if they included say auto on/off headlights and cancelled the homelink I would bet more people would benefit. For people in a condo the homelink is useless.
