Has been awhile since I did a “thing”

Have two cars on order (well truck and a car) that are gonna take awhile. So I I think I’ve gone a pretty fucking rad direction while I wait for them. Got offered a deal I couldn’t say no to.

Whoa, dream car! That's awesome. Now you need to get a white Lamborghini Countach and you'll have every kids 2 poster cars in your garage.

Just drive it. It’s a 10/10 car. Won’t drive it much. Plus it’s actually miserable to drive. Will hold on a bit and sell it. Got a deal I couldn’t say no to.

For such a beauty of a car the few owners I have talked to have said the same thing.

Have heard the same about the Countach.
Can't recall which Italian car it was, or if it was a reference to all the 80s cars, that the A/C was effectively a small Italian man living in the dash & blowing on you with a straw

If you ask about how much the services cost .. you can't afford the car.

time to hit up a High Performance Driving school and make that thing do what it's made to! I'm going to one later this month at Watkins with the Porsche Club in my 650. Should be a blast.

Knew it'd be a lot, but that's shocking.

Former neighbor had a 348 (gated) & 355 (F1), both Spiders, in his garage, I imagine they're 'cheaper' to maintain, but both still engine out cars.

holy fuck. I don't care who you are, unless your net worth has lots of zeros that's still a lot of money lol.

How often does that need to be done?

Here I got all snooty and thought you bought a mclaren!

this car will never see the track, that’s what the 996 turbo is for (that said, I snapped an axle in that, which apparently also meant a broken diff and trans internals, on a freshly new diff and trans rebuild &#128514

I hang out in the TLX forums for a bit and come back to THIS. Wow. Congratulations! And $28k for an engine out service? Also, wow, and I'm happy you were not the one to pay for it.

That engine out stuff....is why I have a NSX. Engine out water pump and timing belt service...$2k every 7 years

You finally snapped an axle and not just the cv joint like last time? That sucks but I bet you were having fun up till that point.

The last i heard engine out service was about 30k, so that sounds about right. Beautiful car. Definitely not a car to DIY and have good resale.

it actually looks surprisingly easy to work on. And I’m shocked by the amount of DIY’ers there are with them. It’s pretty surprising.

Congratulations!!! Amazing condition. You're living the dream with your 996 Turbo and TR.

Looked up close at one at a local exotic shop open house, most of the powertrain is pretty easy to access (plugs, valves, fuel injection distributors,...).. Looks like a afternoon for a clutch replacement.
I take it yours has 16" or 17" tire/wheels and not the TRX like this one. I have a set of E24 M6 415mm tires/wheels rims in the basement looking for a new home.
