Isn't that the purpose of the RS6 Avant? Have you not indulged in the Wagon Appreciation thread? Yumcha would like to have a word with you if you haven't.

And 500 HP grocery getter and soccer/SUV should NEVER be in the same sentence. Ever.

hey, I'm asking on behalf of others, I'm all for a 500-hp mini-suv. I think it makes perfect sense lol. Add a chip and you're at 600hp on that mini-beast, btw.

RS6 and E63 wagon are both $50k more than the X3M so it's a vastly different price point.

We've had 500hp SUVs for quite a while now. You can even get one with 700hp.

How do you like the Outback? In 2016 sadly bought the 2.5L 170HP wheeze-box. Very thrifty on gas, but man, you have to slap it's ass and call it Sally just to get up to speed. Good car though.

For the X3 class of mini-SUV's, which we were talking about, 500hp is a pretty new frontier. The bigger non-mini ones yes they have had the higher numbers for a good while.

Speaking of the Trackhawk, how are those transmission holding up in that truck?

That much hp + weight + how hard that launches....I'm worried about trans/diffs blowing up. Any issues there?

It's a nice car, it's not a great car. I wish we would have bought the 4 cylinder though. The 6cyl is definitely more power but the fuel economy is abysmal and the acceleration isn't that much better because CVT. It is smoother but that's the biggest benefit. My biggest gripe with it is just how unrefined it is compared to the higher end cars, even compared to the Golf. The throttle isn't smooth, the eyesight is kinda clunky, brakes aren't linear, etc..

That's fair. I guess the Macan Turbo doesn't have 500hp either.

I haven't heard anything. FCA is pretty good at making transmissions that handle huge loads of power. What they're not good at is making transmissions that are efficient lol.

Given the pandemic and racedemic going around, not much really for most of us to do other than wake up, walk downstairs to work, repeat...

Really good over here. I've been working at home full time for the past 4 years, so that didnt change and business is absolutely booming.

Just have been super busy with 2 toddlers at home and work pretty much.

Trying to buy a bigger place and move soon. Not sure what city or state. My business can be anywhere since it's mostly out of state so its so hard to choose where to go.

Sold my Jaguar last year for a really good profit and didn't buy anything to replace. So bored. Need something to mod. haha

Least you're in it...since I bought my 06 TL I been more active on this AZine and various forums but never actually opened my wallet to own a real sports car....just living vicariously so far, lol. Maybe one day soon.....crazy to see how often some ppl change cars and buy and sell. Be interesting to see what you end up in next

Damn. That is stout drivetrain.

Makes sense, you gotta make sure all the other parts can support a hellcat motor. That's good to know.

Yeah having a SUV that can go that quick is insane....long as you can stomach the gas bill/stops...lol. I would imagine 15-17mpg is a good day lol

despite the 200hp difference on paper, X3M/X4M can hang with the 700hp SUV pretty well..

Good luck J. Amazing to see how your business grew, SWEIDIT is a household name now! Not just among the 86/BRZ crowd, either.

If I could go anywhere I would definitely consider a no income tax state. But that depends on what kind of climate you don't mind living in, since Florida, Texas, and Washington state are pretty vastly different.

And yet we chose to stay in the state of Illinois and buy a home, so you never know either. Sometimes it's hard to leave, as oooooooooowindooooooo said.

So great to hear from you and that your business has been booming!

South FL is fun if you have money and like the water for boating. But know Spanish and get ready for traffic unless you live on the east side near the water which of course is $$$$.

Vegas is actually on top list for us! No brainer for my business and I can actually buy a bigger place without selling my current condo which is great for renting.

Gonna visit my friends who live in Vegas next month to see how it is. I know it gets very hot but I always stay home working and playing with kids anyway haha

I heard a lot of new developments are happening because of people moving from Socal to Vegas and the Raiders coming into town.

Yah you will be amazed what you can get in Vegas for the same amount here in the 626
With that being said, there are still a lot of deals to be had here, if you are willing to move more inland like Eastvile, Menefee or Temecula area..

From business perspective, there will be more ppl willing to drive to you for business in So cal than Vegas..

Yeah! If I stay in LA/OC, my budget is around 800k and would sell my current condo. Chino Hills is really affordable for big houses but I don't know. It feels so far away.

Vegas, I can spend 400k and get a huge place with separate area for me to use it for my business. This would really be the best move for me to grow business and personal but of course I would miss living in LA. Guess it's a tradeoff.

My business like 60-70% out of state, isn't that crazy? A ton of people willing to ship around boxes full of interiors haha I'm pretty confident that my customers from LA/OC would become out of state if I move to other states. So not too concerned in that sense.

Just want to find a place and neighborhood that makes sense for my kids and business. That's pretty much it. Hard decision to make.

Chino hills is not far

I consider it part of the 626 even tho techinically it is in SB county... it is literally 10 mins from Rowland heights, Diamond bar and Walnut

If you drive across 71 freeway, City of Chino is even cheaper..

as long as people are gambling, Vegas can afford to air ship water if they wanted to

Living on a through street where people with awesome sounding cars go by all day is not helping me defer my desire for a sports car.

I'm trying to be a responsible adult and pay off the CX-5 first. But listening to a V8 go up the hill past my house is a siren's song.

Trade you for the fart can Honda driver that seems to only leave/go home super early in the morning or late at night.

I just miss driving.

I hear you. I went out for a ride on my Triumph last weekend for the first time in eight months. It was a nice morning and I really was glad to get out of the house.

I get fart cans daily too

Yesterday was my first day back in the office. Commuted in on the bike (today too, and tomorrow if the weather keeps up like it is), nice & cool in the morning, but quite warm in the afternoon, especially with a jacket & backpack on.

Yeah, I'm seeing lot of incredible homes for not that much high of a price tag in the Vegas area....makes me just a wee bit suspicious.

The Strip-scene is pretty much reserved for tourists, and I would imagine locals actually take advantage of nearby nature stuff and drive out to Cali pretty often.

The main issue, as you said, is water supply in the coming decades and if one can stand the desert heat...at least it's not humid.

My father used to live in Vegas. I think he was there for 6-7 years in the early 2000s. I loved it there, but the sustainability is a sticking point. When he first moved there, Lake Mead was around it's normal level. By the time he left, it was around half full and continued to fall. It's recovered some, but still only about half full. I considered moving out there about 8 years ago, but it was difficult finding a job in my field that paid a decent salary. Housing isn't terribly expensive but most other things are, and it does get hot - I've experienced ~120*. Standing outside is ok for a little bit, but if you need to do any work outside, do it early in the morning.

Oh, and scorpions. Fuck those things.

Yeah it's like 10-15 degree hotter than LA average, but it's not humid at all. I can't do humid weather. Vegas has recently getting a lot of urban development so there's a lot of good Asian restaurants and kids places.

The housing there is very cheap since there's so much land to be developed. Wish the houses aren't so close to each other though. Haven't been able to find houses that are a little apart from each other.

And Socal is just brutal for housing market. I own a 1200 ft condo near DTLA and its 540k and our HOA is 440. It's so dumb hahaha. At least I have it so I will rent it out and make profit off of it if I decide to just keep it and move to Vegas.

If I was loaded enough, I would just buy a house in La Canada at the entrance of Angeles Crest Highway. Houses I want are like 1.3mil so I may come back when I can comfortably afford it in 5 years. I grew up in OC/LA so I love it here. Moving to Vegas just makes a lot of sense financially.

My mom lives about 45 min north of Vegas, toward Mesquite/St George. Larger properties out there, but still expensive.
Nice to visit, not sure I could live out there.

DC is getting more expensive than that but without the stratospheric side LA has.

Have you considered Palm Springs? They have their own aquifer and I love mid-century modern houses.

Do it.. i can visit you every month

But yah the area has expanded Yugely in the past few years. It is no longer just a plaza.. it is a size of San Gabriel now... all food and market, boba tea....
Food is no longer an issue for living there...
