I feel you on this.

an SUV of that size becoming a convertible is fundamentally uncouth. Never should have made it past the drawing board.

The Aztek would probably be lauded as an icon were the styling not disastrous. The Murano CC on the other hand, doomed from the start no matter what.

Expected nothing less from a company where it’s CEO illegally emigrated inside of a musical instrument box

As much as I hate it, I think the X6 is a pretty good looking SUV. Best looking in the “unholy abomination” segment of them, anyway.

anyone that buys one is smol brain, but still.

Agreed, X6/4 and the MBZ GL_ Coupes. Wouldn't turn down a free one, but would much prefer to put my money into an X3/5 or sstandard GL_.

As a fan of both Legos and stop-frame animation--both interest from my middle-school daze--this is AWESOME! Thx for sharing.

Have to say, though, that the Ur Quattro is probably best suited to Lego replication because of its inherent blockiness. Not all of their scale models translate so well, in terms of getting the looks and proportions right.

I fought as long as possible to avoid the Speed Champ line and broke down to buy the 911 duo-car set when it got marked down. And well, if you have ONE...you gotta have two...so, I scored the Ferrari 488 Scuderia. Also scored the Audi Quattro and the F8 but gotta complain that they are slightly different scales than the latter batch. Both the F8 and quattro are 2-seater cars whereas the aforementioned Porsche and 488 are single. Blah.

The name of that model? Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe. The Turbo S isn't available as is anymore, it must be the plug-in hybrid variant.

A hopped up wagon trying to be an SUV? Not a fan. But it is a Porsche, so it must be fast as fuck. I really wish all of you guys could have lived int he Stuttgart area for as long as I did (6 1/2 years). Seeing Porsche vehicles (like Audi/Merc/BMW) just absolutely fly down the A8 and A81 was a simple treat.

Some guy is selling his low-mileage 2017 Pagani Huayra BC in all her carbon-fiber glory: https://www.carscoops.com/2020/04/lo...es-need-apply/

Don't worry, BoostedJack is buying it and we'll all get a shot to ride in it!

The steering wheel insert, pretty ugly. But hey, for $3M plus, I'm sure you can get groceries with it.

You guys are fucking crazy for calling out the X6 and Porsche
The only luxe cars I found polarizing are the BMW Gran Tourismo and LR Discovery
Cabrio is ugly, but it's no Aztec

Shiettt you can add the Ford Cmax and Buick Encore to Automobile Abominations
You just know whoever bought them, don't have an ounce of self-respect and definitely don't give a shit about driving

I dunno...I find the X6 ugly as fark and would say more would consider it ugly if not for the BMW branding. Slap a Chrysler badge on the X6 design and we'll see if it sells.

And before you tell me to suck a gonad or eat some butt-cheek, I'm not implying YOU find the X6 better because it's a BMW. Just saying in general.

Still, I get it: looks are crazy subjective. I'm sure some people liked the Aztek.

Good call mentioning the Gran Turismo garbage iterations. My gosh the 3 and 5 series versions are plain

The X6, is alright. I could live with an X6M. The Cayenne of course is fine - it's when they do that stupid design with the "Coupe" thing going on that a) results in much less room inside b) cramped headroom for rear seat passengers c) cramped entry/exit for rear seat passengers and d) doofy look all for no damn reason other than, well, I don't know, that's when they become stupid.

X6M is money
I don't find it all that polarizing
I find the CTS V coupe more polarizing

People who live in glass houses

Only people who liked the Aztek were either blind or dumb, probably both

Yeah, to follow up on the Cayenne coupe, check out this comparison. I honestly don’t think it’s bad at all. Actually, I like it. It’s not that big of a difference between the standard Cayenne.

Audi did the "Coupe" kind of thing with the Q8, but for some reason, they managed to make it look absolutely wicked, and I love it.

I just posted the Cayenne Coupe DeMuro video in the Video thread............ taking a gander at that to see if it can pique my interest.......... Didn't know it had 670hp... that is uhhhh.... nice.

Well, it would if he would drive the thing for more than 3 fucking minutes... All he did was gush about how great Porsche is, for 20 minutes, then a short interstate hop for 2 minutes, and that's it. Now, it sounds like sex, but it's like a hand job from your sister. Do you really want one?

My complaint is the car, not you Srika. Not at all.

I watch Doug's videos up until he starts the drive. "Quirks & features" are his bread and butter. That being said, out of all these car YouTubers, he is one of those I'll watch all the way through because he's not a big, "WHATS UP GUYS! HIT THAT LIKE & SUBCRIBE!" shout at your face, nonsense.

yeah, I like his videos - and sometimes I'll slow it down to 1.75 or 1.5, depending on how much I like the car. oh and slow it down to 1.0 if I am watching the drive.

A big thing is I like his voice and demeanor - he doesn't have this pompous elitist kind of voice / attitude that many others have.

Agree with you guys. He is very subjective and his Doug score is kinda trash.

That said, like Rick I end up watching his videos all the way through because I discover things I wouldn’t from other YouTubers. Plus car preferences solely be measured objectively anyway.

He’s basically YouTube Jeremy Clarkson. Can’t take him seriously, but he is entertaining.

And the Cayenne coupe video is what made me realize, the coupe SUV really can be done well

helps that it looks proportional. Likewise with the Q8.

Yep
I don't mind those that pimp like, subscribe, notifications because it's there livelihood
Or the obvious sponsor plug, I get it

It's the shitheads who turn into a mill of bullshit content
Or self-absorbed bullshit, I'm a youtuber / influencer
Turned this car-specific channel into a vlog
Hey Guise! / Squad / blah blah bs
Fuck off

My favorite channel the past year or two is definitely straightpipes
These canadien fuckers are legit, same format
Good shtick, it works

Not like those losers on The Fast Lane
Still astonished they are as big as they are

Any new car review that has a vlogger in it, I almost instantly turn off. I've said it before, these channels clearly show journalism/writing is a big part of car reviewing. Every one of these weenies in a Ferrari - "OMG, it's so fast!". What constitutes fast, though? Some of these guys have driven a wide arrange of sports cars, they can at least describe the difference in "fast" between an AMG & a Ferrari.

Here's Harris describing a Speedtail:
It smashes through 100mph in what must be around six seconds, but only when you’re into fourth does the thing feel like it belongs to a speed category that makes the Ferrari 812 feel about as accelerative as a Fiat 500. It’s absolutely savage – the temptation to stare at the rabid number changes on the speedometer is easily overcome by the need to look ahead, because it does wander a little bit as you approach 200. Nothing worrying, just a little looseness that would probably have Bugatti engineers yelling at each other and consulting laptops.
In 1 sentence, I know more about how fast a Speedtail is than any other car vlogger will describe it in some 10-15 minute video because they're going to predictably tell me during the first throttle smash, "This thing is insane" like they've said about every other hypercar....
