Still working their way through the clientele (I think 300 or so were delivered before the fires).

RS is right around the corner, too.

This is interesting...Would you pay $221,000USD for a 1997 BMW E36 M3...?

Well, apparently, this particular M3 was tuned by JML and is one of only two Lippert 356CS models ever. 5.6-liter V12 engine inside the hood.

I certainly would not pay the asking price...but, if you're a hardcore car collector, maybe? Definitely insanity for an M3.

More info here: http://www.worldcarfans.com/11407287...997-bmw-e36-m3

Actual auction page with pics of the M3 here: http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.as...886&asrc=st|sr

F no. It's a 1997 BMW. My money will be spent on something much more impressive.

Heh...that's chump change compared to the $62.7M asking price for the Ferrari 250 GTO going for auction soon: http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...-expensive-car

So how does one exchange $64 million anyway? Do they give it in stock options?

There are snooty Swiss bankers that take care of all of that for you. You just have your assistant call Nils and tell him to wire the money to the auction house. You've got better things to do, like coke off hooker ass.

I can't even begin to imagine coughing up $1M for a car...let alone $64M. The tax on that could get you a few drop-dead ubercars.

Right now, none of them are a 250 GTO. Perhaps one day they will be.

That said, if you're spending $10M just in taxes plus the buyer fee to buy ONE car, then you've already got Poopdicks and P1s.

You don't pay taxes on a used car if its a private sale, do you?

lol, but if you're that rich, your money is tied up in investments. I dunno if people have even a million dollars in a bank.

May be different by country...in the link, there's a tax portion to the sale.

As an auction I think they consider it a public sale subject to taxes.

Someone may have posted the video in the video thread, but Ben Chen (dude that owns all those exotics) recently hit 246.4 mph in Idaho in his $2.8M Bugatti Veyron Pur Blanc.

That's about 11mph faster than James May did in a Bugatti in Germany. However, I think this Pur Blanc, at 1200hp, had more power than the Bugatti that May drove.
