Friend who's a honda mechanic said the same...
So i'm just waiting for the inevitable doom of my car

but... but... i have no money!!
If it does die. I know my parents are going to offer to help, and cause i have no money, i wont buy a new one if i really do need one and they're going to help with it. I'd go some cheap used car. Keep it till next summer, sell it and get a GTI!
But I'll take advantage of this moment to get a manual car and learn to drive stick, so I wont be learning stick on the GTI!

If you do eventually get a GTI, don't worry about it being the car you learn stick on. Unless you're really terrible at coordination.
My friend isn't exactly a car guy. He spent years overseas for school and so didn't do much driving in that time. Eventually got a brand new GTI and he learned how to drive stick on it, and he was fine. I doubt you'd do even the slightest harm to it, unless you try and learn by yourself or drive in San Francisco.
The main thing is to have someone experienced with driving stick. I wouldn't have been nearly as good as I am if I didn't have my dad, brother, and friends constantly giving me feedback.
I also watched a lot of Initial D, which is how I taught myself how to heel-toe

and oh ya, I learned how to drive stick on my very first manual car. It was old and had a lot of miles but the clutch wasn't any worse for wear. But I'd formed a habit even before that of always resting on the dead pedal, and using it to brace myself during shenanigans. Don't ever ride the clutch.
Save this for when you eventually start learning

Yea I'm not too concerned about learning to drive a manual. I've done it i think 3 or 4 times, all in a parking lot. I can get it going, I just need to be quicker, and also hills scare me, then again i havent really had any practice.

I think car review videos should be outlawed from using the word "absolutely". every damn video about a hot car uses it, and they all say it in that stupid annoying manner. find a new word, you lazy buffoons.

It says on average it costs $960 for Gas in CA. - $20 a week?
Not all of us drive a freaking Prius. I spent about $2800 a year on gas alone.

2012: $1,690.30
2013 YTD: $1,117.69
Just in fuel so far. Add in tires & a timing belt this year. A/C repairs last year. Probably around $1k-1.5k for those.

Agreed. I absolute love how sinister the matte black is on the Aventador, but I fell in love with Blu Hera when I saw a LP640 Roadster sporting it & I believe the Aventador's design makes it stand out even more.

The exact spec this coupe is finished in is perfect with the interior. If it was the Roadster, flawless.

The 2013 MT Driver's Car Competition is complete. I won't spoil it for readers by saying who won, but this is definitely worth your time if you're an enthusiast. I also suggest watching each of the videos for each of the cars. R. Pobst may be a bit annoying and opinionated, but getting his narrative as he laps each car around Laguna Seca adds some good depth to the article. Plus, listening to some of these cars as they go around the track...CRISIS!

I like Randy Pobst though judging from the results, I can see why you might say he's biased.
I'm really surprised by the M6. Shame too, cause I love the way it looks inside and out. Dat engine too.
And is it me or is the average MSRP of the competitors getting higher and higher each year? I could have sworn in years past they had a GTI, BR-Z, MX-5, and so on.

The M6 got what it deserved, it's just too big. That being said, it's a GT car that can handle well, not a track car. The same with the Vanquish.
They did have those smaller cars in the past, but I believe one of the criteria is that the car has to be new (or substantially refreshed) that year. Each of the entrants fits that bill. There isn't a new MX-5/GTI/BR-Z this year.

With the Aventador Roadster being in my top 5, I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing.
Weird, seeing as I like Chevys and Pontiacs with big hood scoops

Thinking of trading in the TSX wagon for a '14 Accord V6 sedan, probably the touring edition.
