Talking G35 interior

I started carpooling with my coworker and he happen to drive his wife's 06 Infiniti G35x. All I can say is that the interior is just plain FUGLY. The plastic is so cheap and what's with the "flurry" aluminium trim. The center console is just crap, looks very similar to the maximas. I was doing my best to be nice to him and couldn't wait to go back home to drive my TLS.

How many rattles did you hear in his G35? ....'cause my 07 AV6 w/13k has more (2) than my 75k 05 Alti V6 (0). If the pattern applies at the next level up (TL vs G35) then.....

I didn't notice any rattles in the G. The aceleration was pretty fast, but it just not my type of tea. The seat wasn't as comfortable since it is more cramped inside. But there is no way I can look at that interior all day.

My 03 AV6 has rattles too, mostly coming from the headliner which is a very common problem for the 7th gen Accords. To me it's worth dealing with a creak or rattle here and there since I love everything else about the car, especially beating up on those cocky G35s. My CL-S had just as many rattles as my AV6 if not more, and every Honda I've owned eventually gets them, but it's a trade off for the low cost, reliability and fun factor. Just look at it as them giving your car character.

stupid comment. You fail.

OP: the interiors of first gen G35s were not their strong suit to put it nicely. To be honest, they were downright terrible both in design and material quality.

You'd be suprised...I was doing a test drive with a client and the moon roof would not stop rattling. I'd say there was a rattle in one in every 10 cars I took out of the G or FX. No idea why...

I agree with the OP. When I test drove the older G35, the interior was a HUGE turn off.

you're stupid, cause the new 2007-present G35's interior are better and on-par and better than the TL's.

You can find the new G35's used quite cheap. Not worth it to buy a new one IMO.

MODERATOR'S NOTE: That is not called for. You can say 'I don't agree' but, stating 'you're stupid' is unacceptable.

sorry, but i'm sick of all these people who say that the G35's interior is cheap. it's not like the TL is top of the class either

The 06 was.

Infiniti took the the criticism and fixed it with the 07s.

that's what i meant though, i know the 03-06 interior was cheapening, but it's not that bad and i know that the 07- present interior is way better.

guess i need to just chill now and relax

well, one would argue that the maxima's looks very similar to the G's because the G was out earlier.

anyways, all the nissans and infinitis are looking the same anyways.

i like the looks of the G's interior. it may not look as nice as the TL's or S5's or DBS's. but it looks nice to me, and besides, it's subjective.

as for the parts, it's been discussed so many times here so to each his own.

call me crazy, but i actually like the orange gauges, black colored console, soft leatherette dash, telescoping wheel, and real aluminum silver trim that the 05-06 G's have. If I wanted a sport sedan for the same cost as the G, but with shitty trannies and fwd instead, then i know which company to turn to.

just realized the OP said 06. yea...can't say it's that great. but it is an improvement over the original design.

The one with the better car? lol

This might sound wierd, but I actually like the *design* of the 03-06 interior better. Sure the materials were garbage, but I like the overall design MUCH better. The pop-up navigation, integrated and not out of place analog clock, the a/c vents etc..The only thing i'd change is the steering wheel and gauge colors with the new G.

Yea I love my 05 G interior too. I love the golden orange gauges. It's clear, functional, urgent, and does not interfere with your night vision. The TL interior looks great, but looks odd without the navi.

Dude, you're just an Infiniti fanboy. And I know you'll admit it too

The 03+ 350Z interior for some reason looks way better than the G35 interiors. Plus it has those cool speakers in the crossbar right behind you.

Obvious thread, but i'll admit I've never seen the 07+ interiors in person to comment on those. Apparently they're better. They look better anyway.

I was mistaken of an 06 G35x, it is in fact the 07 with the new interior. I believe there is a significant improvement from the old interior, but not to the point that I was "wow" by it. If I compare the 2nd gen TL to 3rd Gen TL, I will say that's a Acura definitely got their head straight with the styling. And no need for inappropriate remarks from some of the members here, this thread is solely talking about the interior, not the overall quality of the G35.

Yea the 1st gen G35's interior is crap it hurts my eyes its so bad. I thought Infinti was a luxury car company so shouldn't the interior at least look luxury. Hell you can find better interiors in a hyundai.
