Elise, Viper, and NSX are the only ones that make sense from that list.

The two current limited edition models, TRD and Team Trails, I think will be, yes.

Agreed... Possibly the Smart Fortwo as well.

Some of those cars. I don't think I'd ever want to collect.

I see the FJ being a collector.....just like the older ones are. It'll never be a high dollar car....but it'll be something I think a few off the 4x4 guys will want to grab up 20 years down the road.

Viper, Elise, NSX, Mini Cooper I see making the list as well

I'm surprised the S2000 isn't listed over some of those cars. It's had a long one of a kind run that will probably not be replaced.

Once I save up enough I'll definately buy another one... hopefully a 2005 GPW with Black / Red interior! There were so many things I wanted to do to the car before I got rid of it.

I couldn't see the Scion being a collector. Those have to be some of the ugliest cars ever.

I completely agree. I fail to see how the 300 can possibly be a collector's car and not the Honda S2000 on that list.

i guess its just like back when todays rare collector cars were new on the roads, i dont think people ever thought the barracuda or chargers and mustangs, etc would of became such sought after cars back then

So what happens to all these cars when there is NO gas left in the whole world, they all just become dust gathering museum peices?

Yeah, because corn is gonna supply all our fuel needs!

Also, it's kinda surprising how off-road capable the FJ is. When I first saw it, I thought it was just trendy weaksauce, but it turns out it can kick some ass.

Why would you assume that? I swore I saw them on the S2ki boards, and thought they're just extremely rare. I saw them in person only on a 07, but I think that's honestly the sickest color combo, I just want 04-05 so I can keep the AP2 and not get DBW.

There were thousands of Camaro SS's, Novas, Beetles as well in the 60's. You dont see people complaining when they spend millions colecting them.

People collect what they grew up with. The boomers, being the largest demographic, collect 60's muscle cars and VWs and the cars that they came of age driving.

Gen X, Y, Z (or WTF they call them nowadays) will do likewise. There will be lots of Honda collecting, and Tibbys, and yes, Neons - there I said it.

I can definitely see Vettes of any type as being collector cars. The old ones already are, and they certainly haven't gotten any worse.

they chose these cars because they represent a change in automotive history.
300's...shit...they are the main reason we are getting bick RWD american sedans again.
The s2000 didn't change a segment. That is not to say it isn't a cool car.

I think it is a good list.

The S2000 was a huge change IMO, an affordable high performance sports car. Honda, 4 banger, RWD, 240HP, 9K Redline.... that's a solid reason right there.

The 300's just brought back chrysler, and even after that they sucked so bad Benz tossed them at a huge net loss.

Fj Cruiser is in limited production or something? You don't see that many on the road .... I guess it's kind of hate it or love it situation as regarding the collector list ....

it really doesn't matter how many of a car they make now, it's how many are left 30, 40, or 50 years down the road. the cars that are currently produced in limited quantities are not affordable to the average consumer. they will be even more collectable down the road.

probably cause of the high gas prices now and the odd styling of it too.
