Some of those cars. I don't think I'd ever want to collect.

I see the FJ being a collector.....just like the older ones are. It'll never be a high dollar car....but it'll be something I think a few off the 4x4 guys will want to grab up 20 years down the road.
Viper, Elise, NSX, Mini Cooper I see making the list as well

Once I save up enough I'll definately buy another one... hopefully a 2005 GPW with Black / Red interior! There were so many things I wanted to do to the car before I got rid of it.

i guess its just like back when todays rare collector cars were new on the roads, i dont think people ever thought the barracuda or chargers and mustangs, etc would of became such sought after cars back then

Also, it's kinda surprising how off-road capable the FJ is. When I first saw it, I thought it was just trendy weaksauce, but it turns out it can kick some ass.

People collect what they grew up with. The boomers, being the largest demographic, collect 60's muscle cars and VWs and the cars that they came of age driving.
Gen X, Y, Z (or WTF they call them nowadays) will do likewise. There will be lots of Honda collecting, and Tibbys, and yes, Neons - there I said it.

they chose these cars because they represent a change in automotive history.
300's...shit...they are the main reason we are getting bick RWD american sedans again.
The s2000 didn't change a segment. That is not to say it isn't a cool car.
I think it is a good list.

The 300's just brought back chrysler, and even after that they sucked so bad Benz tossed them at a huge net loss.
it really doesn't matter how many of a car they make now, it's how many are left 30, 40, or 50 years down the road. the cars that are currently produced in limited quantities are not affordable to the average consumer. they will be even more collectable down the road.
