The first car you desired?
Damn, this is a good one too. I remember seeing the Viper whoop ass in car mag comparisons for the most part, and I loved its shape. I even got a little butthurt whenever it lost a comparo
That blue/white stripes is classic, and generally I'm not a fan of stripes. Also love the red intake manifold and valve covers.

1st car I lusted after: the 71-73 Mustang Mach 1.
Thereafter, I lusted after every car I test drove, and a large number of impractical pony, muscle and Italian sports cars, followed by various British, American, Japanese and Swedish sports cars and coupes.

Always had a soft spot for BMW's when I was growing up, and then this came along:

Still think the E34 is the best looking bimmer out there, and have been a big fan of the 5-series ever since. The fact that the 5-series is one of the few (probably the only one left) luxury sedans still available with a stick makes it all the more desirable.

Right here -

I spent hours and days as a kid dreaming about a fender-flared 240Z, add a whale tail to that mix too. Never bought one, but all my friends did (sans flares). I did eventually roll in a tuned 280ZX in college.

my dream car as well....saw every episode of it and loved every bit of that car! soooo futuristic.
Same here, Bob! I remember seeing an '88 CRX in a mall parking lot when I was 10 or 11 y/o, being intrigued with the half window in the back, and telling my mother I want that car when I'm older. I ended up buying an '88 Si in college. It was an amazingly fun and reliable car.
94 Camaro SS (still sort of want)
and when I was a freshman in high school I always wanted a 03 Silverado short bed black/white 40 series exhaust lowered on 20's (and till this day I still and will get one.)

I have to agree with the Testarossa...... Growing up and seeing Miami Vice, well, a lot of influence.
But I have to say that the car that I first wanted, and had real "feelings for" was this:

I saw it in a garage, with a tarp over her: 440, 3 on the tree, blue vinyl interior, and painted in that lovely Hemi Orange. It was a sight.

Knight Rider was to The Dukes of Hazzard as The Jetsons were to the Flintstones.
