Hmmm.... hard to say.
First 3 cars that hooked me were probably:
1. the GM EV1; I saw that on an auto show stage when my parents were in the market for a new car, and I wanted it (I think I was 6 or 7)
2. a Saab 9-3 hatchback; somehow, I just kind of fell for the quirky hatchback thing.
3. the original Mercedes-Benz C-Class; my friend's dad bought one new in 1999 and it was one beautiful car. Still is, in my opinion.

As a first time driver I inherited my father's '87 Accord LX. I always wanted the Gen 2 CRX as well. But the first car I REALLY wanted was the last generation Prelude Type SH. Ended up getting a '95 Millenia S as "my" first car. Then the '99 TL, then the '01 GS300, Then an '05 G35x, and on and on and on...

When I was four years old my Dad bought a brand new '85 Cherry red Porsche Carrera Targa with black leather interior, I was there when he literally drove it off teh showroom floor. This was the beginning of my lifelong love of automobiles, especially Porsche. A few years back my Dad and I found a fairly low mileage one that loooked exactly the same as the one he had, they wanted $20k for it, we wished we would have pull teh trigger on it. Someday I want to find one and buy it for my Dad, he had to sell it to start a new business when I was 12, hopefully I can do that for him one day.

Oh, and I always wanted a Lamborghini Countach or Ferrari Testarossa too.

Yesterday I was coming home from school and saw that Merc coupe, in black too, I fell in love at first sight! Now I know what it is, thank you!

and yes, I've noticed your name before too, I wasn't sure if you meant the disease or the song.

I remember being like 6 or 7 and my family rented an early 90's pontiac grand prix and I really liked it , few years later my uncle bought a 6th gen toyota celica convertible which I thought was the most awesome car ever, around the same time the Rav4 came out, and I thought that was the car for me.

A little closer to driving age, probably around 14, I was in Japan and saw the Toyota Altezza and found out they were bringing it here. I was sorely disappointed that I couldn't afford it at 16, especially because it came here as a Lexus.

It wasn't the first car I desired, but I still remember the first time I saw a white LT1 (at least it was a 93-97 V8) Camaro do a burnout in front of my elementary school when my brother picked me up. He was really excited and was like LOOK! and I saw a humongous cloud of smoke. I was smitten with that car ever since.

The very first though, I think it was a 930 slantnose. I had this bright, green skittle colored 1/64 scale toy that I brought with me EVERYWHERE when I was a kid. That and the Countach, one of my babysitters's sons had a huge poster of one in his room.

When I first started driving, I really really wanted a 3G GS-R sedan.

I grew up in a low income area, so I was jealous of anyone with a decent car lol... although I did like the 993 Turbo/GT2, Ferrari 360/550, and NA2 NSX A LOT

This is difficult. I don't remember if it was an Olds 442, a Corvette Stingray or a Mercedes Benz 300SL. But I remember being wowed by all of them at an early age.

But I also distinctly remember viewing a blurring world from the backseat of my parents' Chevy Impalla SS and, after it was stolen, a Dodge Super Bee.

Hah, same here! Mainly because it was my moms car (dad bought it around the time he married my mom and later passed it on to her to use as a daily), it later became mine when I learned how to drive it. I added flowmasters, full audio system, and had the interior reupholstered. Sold it because the mechanical problems were piling up and it was in need of a major drive terrain overhaul...

The first car I absolutely had to have and could actually afford was a 1985 Honda Prelude. I liked the looks, performance, handling, reliability, resale, and functionality of the car the entire time I owned it. That was a great car and kept me connected with Honda even now. I really wanted the Si but lost patience waiting for it and wound buying a base model.

For you youngsters- this is what I'm referring to:

The first car I can ever remember seeing and thinking to myself "wow I want that" was the 2004 Acura TL. As weird as it is, I loved that car when it came out, it just looked so futuristic and well-designed. Mind you, I was 12 years old. I can remember getting on this very site when I was in the 7th grade, drooling over members with their new TLs. Particularly the TL of the member "Jerky" if you guys can remember him. A bit later in 2007, my sister got a 2004 TL as a 20th birthday present. My obsession with the car grew stronger and stronger, until I turned 16 and got my 2005 TL.

And now I'm almost 18 years old and still lust over the damn car the same way I did when I was 12...

1982 Honda Accord, exactly like this bad boy:

Don't laugh. It was the first car of my dad's that I remember. It was stick, and I was fascinated with how he drove it. He'd let me sit in the driver's seat whenever we were waiting for someone/something. Been a huge fan of cars ever since, and had a soft spot for Accords.

First car that I desired that I've never had would be a tie between the '91 Prelude and the 240SX of similar vintage. I still want to get a Prelude and do a K-swap one day.

This is going to sound real corny. I've always loved cars, but the first one that I absolutely lusted over was my grandfather's 1978 Ford LTD II. I first saw it when I was twelve years old, when he purchased it in 1977. It was a two-door, midnight blue, and had a taupe coloured vinyl roof. I remember when I first saw it. It's long hood and short deck lid. It's turbine aluminum wheels. It just looked so cool.

The car now sits in my storage garage, waiting for it's turn at restoration. Throughout the years I've been collecting parts for it. It will look the same, but under it's hood will reside a Ford Cammer, and of course the suspension, brakes, and frame will be modernized. I'll start in in about five years.

That's cool, live your dream.

I felt the same way about the 3G TL when I first say the concept photo's and for the first time in person at a local dealership presentation.

Good choice, youngun!

Other then the Acura Legend, the 3G TL probably represents a high of Acura styling. I'm also proud to say I owned a 2004 TL (I was one of the first on this site to own one and I remember the days when we complained about the Bridgestone "Terroranzas", LOL) and drove it for almost 60,000 trouble-free miles before I decided I had to have an RL.

Unfortunately the K engine is too tall for the Prelude. The H series barely fits, the oil pan sits very low. Believe me, I looked into it.

There was one in the Dodge dealership when my parents bought their Intrepid back in 1996. The whole time my parents were signing paperwork, I was drooling over the GTS. I used to have school folders and posters in my room of that car. Maybe one day I'll have one.

First car crush was a 4th gen Prelude VTEC back in 1999. Not my car but:

Still a great looking car I'd be happy to drive today. You hardly ever saw the top-o-the-line 2.2 VTEC coupes (200+ hp) out on the street even 10+ years ago. The 5th gens were all made with that engine but I always though the 4th gens were much more exclusive when they came with the hot engine. It was the first car in Honda's lineup to get the full VTEC treatment (if you didn't count the exotic and unobtainium NSX)

Damn, this is a good one too. I remember seeing the Viper whoop ass in car mag comparisons for the most part, and I loved its shape. I even got a little butthurt whenever it lost a comparo

That blue/white stripes is classic, and generally I'm not a fan of stripes. Also love the red intake manifold and valve covers.
