They're everywhere here... Tho, I kinda like the CSX. I wouldn't buy one, but still nice. I think the CSX replaced the EL.

I didn't think these Acura models were available in North America. I never knew Canada had them.

CSX replaced the EL nameplate when the last gen civic was released.

The Civic is Honda's best seller in Canada, the EL/CSX makes sense for their market.

Not a problem with me, I never knew about the Canadian Acura Civic. Thanks for posting, I never would have known about it otherwise.

You'd think so, but with a price hovering around $30.000, it's not a particularly strong seller. In 2008, Acura moved 2998 CSX. In 2009, the number out the door was 2536. For the first four months in 2010, a total of 563 units were sold. An attractive car with good features, it hasn't met with Honda's expectations.

I love the MB B-Class, it's such a weird little car I used to see them all over the place in Europe. Do you guys get the A2 by chance?

I'm not sure if A2's are coming to Canada... it would sell really well if it did IMO... But no, I haven't seen them, at least not yet

I had a 98 EL before I got the TSX. The EL was an awesome car, my first I drove. Got it brand new for 22k (taxes included) back in 98. It handles pretty awesome with the DWB suspension, and extremely reliable. Unfortunately someone made a wrong turn and it was totalled in 2005, with over 200k km on it. Insurance still paid a 5 digit compensation for just the car alone, so I guess it holds its value very well.

I test drove the CSX when it came out in 2006. IMO it doesn't handle as nicely as the EL, nor was it as refined. But it did came with more safety features and one more ratio in the auto tranny.

Well, even a search of Acurazine (or just Car Talk) would have yielded several threads over the years talking about the EL .

No biggie though... probably good to have a topic about it every now and then since it's not widely discussed

^ No demand. Do some searching. There's been maybe 10 topics about it over the last few years. And those topics do not have many replies. Plus, it's basically a Civic with leather...

Interestingly enough, my mother is interested in one. She'll be living in Ontario again (she was raised there and now she is a widow) and I have been researching cars for her. She liked the Fit a lot which seems to be reasonably priced for the Canadian market. But I've also researched the CSX and it is priced with navigation at $25,090 (cash purchased price) + $1395 and Lord-only-knows taxes.

not a problem with me, just makes more sense to google acura EL, then to make a thread about it.

My buddy had one and it was pretty nice. He side swiped the car and it was totaled but it was pretty nice. Much nicer than a civic and more luxury feel to it. And they are still pretty pricey I think.

CSX is much nicer than a civic, much much nicer. And fully loaded is around $30 000. Might not be worth it to some people. but it looks so nice in white, and I think there is a type-s kit or a-spec kit for it too, not too sure.

Type S = Civic Si Sedan.

Keep in my that the CSX comes standard with a 155HP 2.0L or as I mentioned, the 2.0L from the Si in Type-S trim.

Latest rumors is that the El is being brought to Mexico, California, and parts of Texas. It will be called EL Acura instead of the Acura EL.

so that's 200hp in the type-s trim CSX? That's pretty good then. It's a hot looking car. I like it better than a TSX. I don't think I would spend that much money on it though.

My buddy raced one in his 98 vr6 GTI and that thing spanked him. It was a nice ype-s one, white, with white volks and yellow foglights. Looked so clean

I've seen some Civics around hear with leather, pleather, leatherette, whatever you want to call it. Not sure what the CSX has on the Civic aside from cosmetics.
