Definitely love the black lip and wing, it really matches the engine vents and wheels nicely. And I'm with Morgan, get the toyos

Hey Ed... figured I'd ask you another Lotus question, but this time in the thread ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I've been looking at the 06-08 Elise, but was talking with someone at our October Cars & Coffee this weekend. He had a 2011 S/C but was coming from a 2005. He mentioned to me to look at a 2008 or newer b/c the shifter had been much improved. He did mention that if I go 06 or 07 to upgrade the shift linkage as that is supposed to help dramatically. I'll be honest, I've driven auto all of my life and am self taught at manual, so a sloppy shifter would take enjoyment away.
What are your thoughts since you have an 07?

Can't wait to see the new wheels and tires on the car.
I have a set of those Yokos for my TSX. Can't wait to try them out next summer. Sorry to hear you couldn't use them.

JB - I'm not familiar with the shifter linkages being revised from 08+. I will say that '07 did bring a host of other changes over thr 05-06 though. In my searches, I didn't want anything less than '07 because of the few things that the '07 had over the earlier models. The shifter isn't bad, but it isn't great either. The biggest issue I have with it is the 3-2 downshift, there are times where it will snick into gear ever so easily, and there are times that it just won't go in, forcing you to take a breath, and try again, then it goes into gear. You can't always rush it into gear, really, and I tend to shift VERY quickly. Other than that, it's decent. It doesn't beat a good Honda stick, though. Aside from all this, there are fixes in place in the aftermarket to correct the problem though, and I may do it eventually.
I did a few small mods to my shifter though, they are inexpensive and helped a bit - one was changing the trans fluid with a mixture of GM Synchromesh and Redline MT90 fluid, and the other is a bracket that moves the reinforce point for the shifter from the center rail to the tub/chassis, giving you a more firm feel.

Don't know why, but I re-synched the TPMS receiver to the sensors and now it's working. Last things to do, put the hardtop on, and I'm installing a small polycarbonate shield that goes under the edge of the front bumper to protect it from the ground if anything. It can't be seen from above the car, though.

Just a little update. Car is put away for some more end of season tweaks/mods. Adding some CF side intake scoops, changing the oil pan with something more suited for track use to prevent oil starvation (Sector 111 gPAN3), changing the shifter cables, hopefully that will help with the lousy shift feel. Also changing the diffuser in back with a Difflow 5 Element Diffuser. Lastly, in the process of acquiring some seats off a Sport Elise because they are a heck of a lot more comfortable than my stock seats. Only problem with them is it has a contrasting stripe in the center of the seat in neon green, which would look terrible in my car. I may either have them dyed black or yellow, or might have them reupholstered, also in either black or yellow leather or alcantara. Also considering additional seatbelt harnessing, but unsure yet what to do. Have a few other things in mind, but also undecided, so I'll leave it at that.
The seats in question:

Holy moly that diffuser is huge ![what](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/what.gif)
The seats are sexy. Changing the stripe would have to happen

The diffuser isn't THAT aggressive, there are others that are far larger, I didn't want to go crazy...This is what it looks like from the side:

THIS one is HUGE compared to what I got:

The seller of the seats wants to trade me my black door panels for these panels, also with the contrasting stripe, which I would have to dye or reupholster together with the seats...

....And he wants to trade me my CF shifter console with a leather one, also with matching shifter and e-brake boot in the same neon green, also which I would have to dye or reupholster...I dunno man, I like my CF console, makes mounting my navigation system on the side really easy because the suction cup sticks to the side of the console when I'm using my nav...

If the stitching is also green, I'll probably pass. If it's white, i'll consider it!
What do you think?
