Could always be worst. At least you didn't have to worry about spontanious combustion like early second gen Mini Cooper S owners had to. (A recall was issued, I sold mine off before it went into effect)

Update:

Good and bad

Good: My service guy is awesome! he requested air shipment from Germany for the fan and it just arrived today. My car should be done by tomorrow.

Bad: Let the countdown begin for the next limp mode.

Glad to hear your service rep is doing a good job!

Do not like when they just throw parts at the problem. I do hope someone in Germany is working feverishly on a permanent correction.

I can't imagine having a car and waiting for it to break down on me

On a serious note OP, good luck with your car, I think you'll need it...

Too small unfortunately. I'd actually suggest giving the new Lexus vehicles a try. The GS350 is a fantastic car and the wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed our demo so far. Will be going into negotiations some time this week for an F-Sport in Obsidian or Starfire Pearl.

they replaced bunch of fan related stuff, not just the fan.

I thought the 335d was dead for the U.S?

I know they will be releasing the 328d for the F30 chassis though

Don't know if it will, but 313 HP/465 lb at 1500-2500 sounds like A LOT of fun.

with the way BMW is whoring out so many different cars from every numerical symbol, i would be surprised if they don't bring it to US.

Update:

Took the car in yesterday for the same problem. Gave the SA that "I TOLD YOU SO"

Loaner: 2014 X1 28Xdrive 2900 miles with the weirdest option list.

So far 16 mpg!!!!

The turbo sound is much louder in the 28 than in the 35. Still sounds like a diesel.
Even tho it is a 2014, the steering wheel and suspension still feel very BMWish, or very E9X unlike F30. I thought all 2014 cars will become electric steering...

.... I wonder what the BMW dealership's explanation is this time?

It must be pretty frustrating bringing in a car for the same issue on multiple occasions - A serious issue at that.

Good luck!

The truth is, they don't know what is going on. BMW doesn't even have a fix for it.

There are some people already lemoned their car with their dealer and received a brand new replacement.

and then, yes, limp mode again.

The X1 is based off the E90. Also ttribe is a fanboy.

That's a very nice F30. There is some hope I guess. It still would be need to be lowered to my taste.

Compared to the E90, the F30 center of gravity is 1" higher. Here goes another reason to lower it...
