Extinct in the Wild
Yep. Nail on the head on both points. I probably see an Oldsmobile once every couple of months or two. It actually took me a while to name that last big Olds sedan you posted.
Cars made in the '00s that I hardly see at all anymore
Both of the Buick Enclave and Ford Flex were everywhere when they first came out, now they're nowhere to be seen. And were it not for a Vigor parked curbside on my way to the freeway for my commute, I wouldn't have seen one in years.

I actually see an Aztek every once in a while.

You guys aren't seeing them because of where you live. Now that I'm not in Scottsdale anymore I see most of these cars on the road and rarely any exotics anymore. Location location location lol.

I will admit though when I'm out of Cali and visiting family in the Midwest or back east I see a lot more older domestics.
My friend and I got to talking about this on Monday and it's had me thinking on and off. What would you say are the cars that are so rare to see in the wild that they would be considered 'extinct'? These have to be cars made and sold in fairly decent numbers when new but ones that didn't last very long.

> Pontiac 6000
Any others?

some are probably on cinder blocks.
Come to think of it, I've seen every single of these vehicles in the past year with the exception of a Sterling. I saw an Acura SLX recently. Probably the only one in Oregon.

You know, now that this thread has progressed, I'd have to say that with the exception of a couple of cars, I have seen everything posted in this thread in the last year...and over half of them NOT in Little Mexico.
NY Jets cheerleader that comes into my job from time to time drives one (and had to fit 5 decent sized birthday balloons in it)

My best friend had that Daewoo built LeMans when it first came out. It was crap even by 80s standards.
Backtracking to the previously mentioned Ford Tempo, I do still see them here or there, usually driven by women who are fairly advanced in years.

Even though they are relatively popular, I have yet to see a Smart car out where I live. A teacher at my school had a Fiat, but came back this year with a Mini Cooper S.
I'll put my vote next to the Prowler, Mazda 323, First Gen RX7, pre-2000 Hyundai's, and Ford Thunderbird. Come to think of it, the last time I saw an Acura RL was in a dealer showroom...
