DBA rotors?

Anyone know much about them? Just looking for a bit more feedback before I buy. I've heard no bad things yet but wanted to make sure. ALso, I'm leaning towards the slotted only (also a $110 savings over the slotted and drilled).

Also, any one using Hawk or Porterfield pads (I'm leaning towards porterfield because I can do front and rear matching pads; and they are like 2 blocks away).

I currently have Hawk HPS pads and would not recommend them. They don't work when cold and once they get hot they fade.

I've heard that Porterfield pads perform well but they destroy rotors.

aren't the hawk pads notorious for lots of brake dust also?

My pads were pretty low on the dust. Comparable to OEM

Anyone using EBC's then?

I know hawk and porterfield will eat up stock rotors, these should hold up well. I'm leaning towards porterfield

power slot is an options, but I'm not sure they will hold up as well as these DBA rotors (which is understandable considering the cost of the DBA's)

I was reading reviews on Subaru websites (since EBC seems to be really popular with them) and many people complain about pads wearing out in ~20k miles or less with "aggressive" street use.

lame, i'll probably go w/ the porterfields. I've read good things, and these new rotors aren't soft (like most stock rotors) so they should hold up well.

We'll see how it goes, those f'ing DBA rotors are $600+ for the slotted, 700+ for the drilled and slotted

Oh I thought you meant $600 each.

$600 for a set of 4 isn't bad.

the 04 guys only have to pay like $300. Guess an extra inch in rotor size both on the front and rear justifies the markup?

The DBA's seem pretty cool, i've read good things about their kangaroo paw design and the "thermo-graphic temperature monitoring" seems cool, although I have no clue how it works

IF they were that much steve, you'd see these on the car

I really wish I could find away to retrofit the rest of that suspension, that shit is TITS! (It's off the Holden HSV HRT 427 limited edition car)

I need brakes as well.

I might pick up a set for the CL.

They only make them for the front end though. Guess I'll stick with Rotora or stock for the rear.

EBC Red Stuffs should last a lot longer than 20K. The Greenstuffs under hard use are probably 20-30K under really hard driving.

They should last that long but I've seen many review where people are complaining of them wearing out quickly. Unfortunately most of the positive reviews I've found were written within a few days of the pads being installed without any follow-up review to say how long they lasted.

My Greenstuffs are at 20K and next to no pad depth loss. Guess it depends upon driving style. Mine is pseudo agressive.

Did you end up buying these Scott?

Today I purchased the 4000's with Redstuff's (despite the few negative reviews I read) today for the front.

Came to $300 shipped.

Coupon code 08010 for $10 off your order.

Free shipping on orders $100+

I suppose you could order each rotor on a separate order and save $40. Damn I should have thought of that before I bought them.

They don't make dba's for the rear on the CL so I guess I'll need to stick with something else
