Daily Mileage?
Damn.
I'm trying to decide if I want to continue with my long ass commute. I love my job, but I really like the area we live in and I'm not sure I want to move closer to Philly. The damn property taxes are too high and we have a better school district.

On months where I'm on service at my downtown hospital, I put 40 miles a day on my car. On months where I'm on service at my suburban hospital, I put ten miles a day on my car. That doesn't take into account after-hours emergencies, which luckily don't come up too often.
Cleveland FTW with shorter commute times and distances to affordable housing. I really feel badly for you guys on the coasts, especially NYC/Philly and SF and LA. Long distances between jobs and affordable housing FTL.

I don't know what's come over me but I've suddenly stopped driving except when absolutely necessary. Up until this week, I was averaging almost 50 miles a day on my Santa Fe but since then, I've only logged 75 since Monday. And I have to say, I'm liking it. I guess it only took eight years for driving to stop being a relaxing get-away, mostly due to the traffic and the awful drivers in this area. Usually I wind up being even more stressed than I was when I left. Being out of work obviously contributes to my lack of need to drive but I think this is the start of a new trend.
A 15 mile a day average = right around 5,500 miles a year. I've racked up major miles on my last two cars (25 to 30K a year) so not whoring this one to death will be nice.

Hope that changes soon!

It's my dream job so that's really the only thing keeping me here and waiting.
