great work!

I don't think anyone really knows the REAL longterm effects of boost (S/C or turbo) on the VQ engine (i.e. connecting rods as they seem to be the weak link) b/c they are still relatively new. I just searched on my350z forums and 1 person has ran with the S/C for 10k.

well there are VQ30DE cars running boost with over 150k on the odo without a tick. If the setup is correct and tuned properly than VQ motors can take boost without problems. I know there have been tons of problems with the ATI kit on the 350z but its more on the fact of the kit was setup improper than the motor not being able to take it.

ummm yeah...sooo you do know that turbos and superchargers both have blowers and intercoolers and bov and all the other goodies ......but s/c's are belt driven and turbos are fan driven......??? dont you??? :sqnteek: :sqnteek:

True, but I meant to say the VQ35DE not the VQ series. With a higher CR than the VQ30DE (10.3:1 rather than 10.1), those 350z guys are trying to run a lot of boost (5.5-7psi) with a suspected weak connecting rod. I don't know if they use the same for the G35, but I would assume so.

The question I have is if that is the MAF, is it planned to keep it post SC?? It generally is not advisable (this may be an exception) to have a MAF under boost. You generally get very inaccurate readings and in some cases a lower output than what you might see NA. Under boost the flow rate is slowed. Most MAF’s are meant to be drawn through prior to any compressor.

Just curious??

Niiiice!! Looks like the G already has a Crawford Plenum too!! I hope Vortech learned some lessons from ATI before they put this kit out.

I believe that the reason greddy took so long in developing their twin turbo set up is because they kept having serious engine trouble in the long term! Thats what they came out and said when asked on the Z forum. Since you guys are being pioneers in this project, I say more greese to your elbows! Its not that I don't surpport you, i'm just stating the facts. the VQ in the 3rd gen maxima's that your talking about had different CR's that in the Z.

either way good luck.
