Couple of V wagon road trip pics

I wanted to post a new thread rather than post in my long V thread just because.

I'm currently on a road trip in my wagon out West. Despite my concern about putting miles on my rare car, I simply can't stop doing it. I simply enjoy the car too much. It is the PERFECT road trip car other than fuel economy....which I don't care about anyway in this car. It's just too fun.

I would call this one appropriate use for this wagon. Both pics are from yesterday.

Enjoy.

Mount Rushmore (look closely for the faces, yesterday was misty and rainy up there).

Last night, we arrived at the Roosevelt Arch at the North Gate to Yellowstone.

That's the whole point in having an awesome car.... to drive it and enjoy it.

ROFL!

In Colorado now, so I've been off the radar.

RPhilMan, I did drive through Chicago on the way west. I wish I'd had time to stop, but I keep a schedule on long drives like this. I almost stopped, though, to go to the tilt windows at the Sears (sorry I refuse to call it "Willis") Tower.

Processing a few more car-related pics and some video.

The next morning in Cody, Wyoming. We exited the park at the East Entrance and overnighted in Cody. I'm not sure I want to know what the Wild Sheep display is....

North entrance to Yellowstone. You'll hear my fam in the car as well. Long video but if you haven't yet been to Yellowstone, it may be interesting.

Tunnel through Heart Mountain near Cody, WY. I gunned it a couple of times, but didn't do anything crazy because wife and son were in the car.

Well done Bob, those pics are awesome and I was hoping for your right leg to go wild in the video, but you did well to control it since you had family in the car

What was your overall MPG, if you dont mind me asking

It was much louder in the car, trust me. The Google folks really need to work on the mic in Glass.

Trip average so far is 19 mpg, fully loaded, AC on, cruise control set at 81-83 mph. Best individual tank was driving in the switchbacks while exiting the East entrance of Yellowstone, 21.5 mpg.

That's awesome! I was only able to manage 21.5 mpg on my last trip to Montreal with 4 passengers and a stuffed trunk...

haha yeah, when the window was down i think the mic picked up a lot of win noise....

but you ballin with the glasses

19.5 is not bad....if the new gen (3rd gen) is based on the Vette (engine/suspension) wise as I hear, its gonna have that smart engine management, which shuts off 4 cylinders to maximize fuel economy....for the new Vette they mentioned and EPA estimated 31MPG Highway
