Are you thinking of buying either? I'll try to answer your question. A good driver with the stock Cls-6, on a 70 degree day, can hit 14.5 in the 1/4 with perfect shits, while a similar stock auto G35 coupe would range from 14.7-15.0 given the same conditions. One must note that the auto G35 coupe would be more consistent with its acceleration numbers, and the Cls-6's would have to nail its shifts every time, FTW!

The Cls-6 with comptech exhaust, sounds sooo much better than the stock G35 coupe exhaust.

Depends on the launch. I ran on the G35 from a roll and from a stop when I had my Audi A4. Haven't tried running with my CLS-6 yet but torque aside, it's a foot race to the driver. Comparing a manual to an automatic and which is faster seems a bit young to me like that kid that died last year who was on a BMW forum a few of my friends use and kept asking all these questions about how to unlock more power in the M5.
The OP is looking to buy either a CLS-6 or an RSX-S and is 17. Asked the same question in that thread too. Kind of funny that kids are buying cars now and looking at it the situation like what faster car than I buy than you. I wonder how it will be for my son in 10 years. But I guess he already thinks he's getting my car.
I guess I was like that at that age to a point but it was more for me, how much faster I could make my car and not which is faster, stock to stock, auto to manual.
I guess I'll end this rant by saying that the manual revs under driver control while the G35, although powerful, is computer controlled and limited by where the power band falls off and the CLS-6 stays pretty consistent above 4000rpm.

CL-S 6 is definitely faster than a G35 Auto, BUT definitely slower than a G37 with the 7-speed auto.

Looking at the CL forum, there are members who have gotten 14.2@99mph in their stock CL-S 6MT.

Its all in the drivers. My friend has an 03 G35 auto and I have an 03 CL S 6 and we were cruising at about 55 on the "track" and up to about 110 we were side by side. His passenger door was lined up to my driver fender. Im pretty sure in the quarter mile it would be seconds apart. I am still getting use to the gearbox, so who knows about the outcome next time.

Oh and I would suggest doing a search. There are probably over 50 topics regarding the CL-S and the G35...

Just quickly looking the best a stock CL (6 speed) hit was 14.4 and there are 4 "G's" that hit under 14.3 Stock so I think it is safe to say the G is quicker..

this is my 5AT G...and no it's not stock..i dunno how u can ever compare stock for stock 2 cars with completely opposite tranny's...the 6spd G in any car is always gonna have more pwr...but the speed is always gonna depend on the driver's skills. IF u wanna compare stock exhaust, I think the G has always has a nice rumble to their stock exhaust IMO...any car can sound different when u put an aftermarket one on...my car makes only 253 whp on the dyno but u all know if u put that kind of pwr in a lil civic, it'll take on any V6 or V8 with no problems..it's all a matter of taste of what kind of look you're going for...but the OP needs to think if they want looks or pwr...both car's are great looking and have great pwr...but there will always be someone who is bigger and better then what u have...just be happy with what u have and make it unique in the way u like...
