Driving 110 MPH and sipping diet coke is not a smart thing

Do you know why the Germans make the $hittiest cup holder?

I'm not a big fan of the E60s, but that car looks great.

They make the shittiest cup holders to keep the drinks out of the car and make sure that one hand is on the wheel and the other on the shifter....if you can even call that "cup holders" in the E39s, haha.

Thanks guys for the compliments! I'm not a fan of the e60 myself; however, the body kit makes all the difference.

My favorite design is still the e39 (with the right setup). That why I used to own an '04 TL.

Check this out. The lines are very similar to the 3G TL.

Okay, now more pics of your E60, so that we can compare the two.

I was referencing M cars only, my original post was correct.

Ex: There was no American M5 from 97-99 or 04-05, and the e46 m3 didnt debut until 01.

You grow up. The M5 does 110 mph in first gear. Haven't you seen this commercial?

I would like to clarify that 110mph in the m5 is the equivalent of 60mph in the Acura. Driving the acura at 90mph is a lot more dangerous than cruising at 110mph in the M5 as far as the ability to safely handle and maneuver the vehicle as well as brake. Mind you, I am not going to make a habit of driving in the 100+mph range, but had just picked up the car and was feeling a little over exhuberant. So if you want to start name calling and stereotyping my driving habits, based on one post, feel free. But you are the clown, not me.

Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still retarded.

In other news, I am driving the car up to VIR this weekend to spectate one of the BMWCCA driving school events with some friends. That is definitely the next step of my plan. No use in owning an M5 if you dont know how to drive it. I would like to do some of the drivers education courses. Does anyone know more about these?

This sounds like the setup in a Twilight Zone episode. Suddenly Mr. Grime finds himself unable to slow his car. 140mph, 145mph, 150mph. He depresses his brakes to no evail, fiddles with the ignition to no effect. Aaahh! Duh duh duh!!!

This is probably one of the most retarded things I've read on this forum and that's saying a lot. Feel free to kill yourself by driving your m5 into a tree at 110 mph. It should only feel like 60mph but it will be enough to abort you before you kill someone else.

You're a real class act, fella.

Enjoy your 7 year old M5... and like Zero said, do this world a favor, and wrap it around a tree for all of us. You'll be doing this country some justice

Well, you just sealed the deal, you are a complete retard.

So your M5 defies the laws of physics. Some how if you hit a tree at 110mph it does the same damage as an Acura hitting the same tree a 60mph? So when are you competing in the Special Olympics this year?

The laws of physics don't change because of the emblem on your hood. Mass and inertia care not for the snob appeal of your M5. Hopefully when it happens, you only kill yourself.

The monkey in my Avatar has more of a right to the oxygen on this planet than you do.

Actually, the OP might not be far off. Physics, and we've probably all taken it, dictates that P=mv, so momentum might be the same for both cars based on speed and velocity.

Wait, since the CL weighs less than the M5, the CL would have to be going FASTER, so...........yeah.

Grimy: Just be careful in that car. It could easily get you in trouble, but I'm sure you already knew that. Have care for other people on the road

Right so his heavier M5 does more damage at the same speed. So in reality grimey got it backwards. The real equation is OP+M5=Retarded.

God I get sick of people acting all holier-than-thou about somebody speeding. Who the hell here hasn't been north of 100mph on the street. Just because you go 110mph on a highway does not mean you automatically get into a 20-car pileup that kills 16 girlscouts. Jeez....

I think it was more of the added "sipping diet coke" at the same time that really turned up the heat.

There is a difference between driving fast with responsibility and driving fast like an idiot.

Here's my case for him being an idiot
1)He's driving 110mph and being surprised how slow other people drive.

2)He's acknowledged that there are others on the road because he's passing them. The speed limit is probably 55 or 65 mph so he's traveling roughly 2x the speed limit while passing them.

3)He's sipping on a diet coke while doing all of the above.

Now if this was his quote

Dude, I lived for 10 years in the motherland of your ride. In fact, I spent about 5 of those within 45 minutes of the damn factory (near the olympic stadium). Anyway, my point is EVEN THE GERMANS DON'T DRIVE LIKE A-HOLES.

Over there, when the autobahn has no limit, and the roads are clear, then it's ok to take it up that high. They recognize that. Hell, you have to drive about 20 minutes outside of Munich to get to an autobahn that is without limits (9 is my preference, from Munich to Nuremberg. Three lanes of fresh asphalt).

I could understand if you picked up your car, and were traveling from Billings to Helena Montana, where the only thing to hit is a jackalope. You live in NC, and my friend, even the interstate there is bad. Not a smart time to do 110.

Do us all a favor and keep it under 75, and don't sip anything while you drive. Both hands on the wheel.

Good idea
The driving school will cost you around $400 to $500 (cheaper if you're a member) but it is great fun, I highly recommend it. By the way, the instructor will not let you sipping coke while driving

The driving school will cost you around $400 to $500 (cheaper if you're a member) but it is great fun, I highly recommend it. By the way, the instructor will not let you sipping coke while driving
PM me if you'd like more info.
Went out to VIR today and spectated a BMWCCA driving school. I also got to ride with one of the instructors during the instructor session. Wow! It was an amazing experience. There is nothing more fun than doing hot laps in a true race car with someone who knows how to drive. The instructor was really cool and definitely encouraged me to come out and do the schools. I don't think I have ever had as much fun with cars as I did today. The drive up to VIR and back was a blast as well. I've definitely caught BMW fever. I could care less about modifying the vehicle at this point as much as I want to learn how to drive my car to its fullest potential.

We took tons of pictures,(approximately 170 of them) and some video too. My friend is currently uploading them to my photobucket so they will be up tonight. The wait is finally over.
