Who cares? Its a mother trucking M5!!!!! I have always been a BMW enthusiast who drove an Acura. This 400hp 3792lb beast will eat up E46 M3's and 99.9% of the cars on this site in stock form. The need for speed is not solved with superchargers, intakes, and exhausts, it is solved with a highly tuned 4.9liter V8!

But dont worry, i wont forget where I came from, just be sure to get out of the way when you see the angel eye healights in your rear view mirror.

and yes it is moddable. for the price of a 2008 TL-S you can buy the Dinan S3 pkg: http://www.dinancars.com/store/produ...cat=550&page=1

sweet ride. my only concern for you is maintenance. A friend of mine is a bmw mechanic. He has your model. He replaced all four brakes himself and purchased the parts at cost. His outlay was over $1500.

Lucky for me I am a BMW salesman and get parts/labor at cost. Not to mention one of my best friends is a BMW mechanic and can help me with everything.

I should be getting the car on Monday, pictures will come shortly after. The interior is 1000X better in person. I have already planned replacing all of the woodgrain with either black trim or carbon fiber. The wood and the red inserts is a little too much. And I am definitely going to tint the windows and also powdercoat the wheels "wet black". Got to keep it gangsta.

The E39 M5 is hot. nice upgrade. Hopefully, it won't give you too many problems as I have known E39 owners who were less than satisfied with it....which is one of the reasons why I did not opt for a used 540i when shopping for the last car I ultimately purchased.

Congratulations for your purchase! I'm glad to see you found a low miles model in stellar condition. Be careful though, she's quite a handful sometimes in slippery conditions, I don't recommend deactivating the traction control unless you're very familiar with the car. You have the color combo I wanted, but ended up with Silver on black. Enjoy her in the best of health!

Very nice! I like!!! I've always LOVED the M5. I'm not sold on the red inserts, but I'm sure it'll be much nicer once the wood is gone. Good luck with it!

i think it is crazy to think vice versa. same with the 7 series, in general.

For some reason, bangles design flows run out of steam on larger vehicles. if that makes sense. he tries to incorporate curves and swoops that just seem to die out when going across a 16 foot canvas.

Where in NC are you? Charlotte area? Which dealership? Just curious as I've had an older M5 on my mind for a while now...

Oh, and sweet new ride

If youre going to replace the inserts you might as well order the "euro dash" Its basically the lower dash parts they use in europe...much thinner, less padding for usa crash regs...buys you a few more inches in knee room.

My good friend did this with his former E39 540.

Nice classic m5, u never said how much u paid or financed for it im guessin at least 25K with thoes miles? I was just lookin at one earlier in the year with 78k miles and the dealer wanted 20k. If i were u i would just leave the interior how it is and save the money for upgrades on that v8 and just tint the glass.
