Someone here has a red one as well, looks really good.
When I was in STL this past weekend a friend was telling me how he saw a "Scion rebadged as a Subaru" and why anyone would put logos from another brand on a car that doesn't have anything to do with that car. Needless to say...

Have you considered blackhousing the headlights? I think it would be nice to add some contrast

The car was washed and sealed at my friends house Thursday night. Friday I applied another coat of sealant then waxed it. The plan was to clean the interior and shine the tires. But around 2pm a storm rolled in, so I frantically cleaned out the garage (and by that I mean throw all the shit in one bay into the other) and parked the car there. It didnt stop raining until around 10pm, and there was still a chance for a passing shower overnight. So the car stayed.
There is absolutely zero space to work in the garage with my car in there. There are two work benches on either side that take up a large amount of space, then I have an engine, motorcycle, tool chest, some tires, and the air compressor against both walls. The car, being as wide as it is, barely fits.
I like putting on the tire shine the night before, that way there is enough time for it to soak in. Then in the AM I wipe off any excess and I wont get any sling. That also gives the tire a clean look, but not overly wet. Had I put shine on at the meet, they wouldve been way too wet looking, and I didnt have a microfiber to wipe off any excess that may have gotten on the paint.
That, and it was too fucking hot.

Morgan, how tall are you? Do you have plenty of room? Maybe I missed it earlier in this thread. I haven't yet had the opportunity to check out one of these in person. I'm trying to decide if this car is something I might be able to swing in the future or if I should just cross it off my list.

Good deal, there's hope yet! Do you have much room behind your seat? I really need to just take a look at one, but there are none close to me. I'd be the only person in the car a vast majority of the time, but it'd be nice to be able to take one or two my kids with me from time to time. Any complaints or disappointments so far? I really like what you done so far, and can't wait to see how far you go with it.

I have no complaints or regrets with the purchase (thus far). Its a first year run, so they (Toyota) are putting out TSBs and there are various rattles here and there and other oddities (particularly the tail lights)- but thats all things that I fully expected and I am confident that Toyota will fix them. If you dont want to deal with those issues, wait until the third or fourth year.
As far as space, there isnt much in the back seat. If you have one kid in the front seat with it pushed up a bit, another should fit behind them. But there is no room for anyone to sit behind me, unless they sit Indian style. Even then, their knees are probably hitting the seat. And if theyre tall, their head may hit the rear glass.
The car is only a 2+2 for insurance purposes, but its really a two seater.

Anyone read the most recent Car and Driver? There was a weird ranting article about Toyota making the FR-S a Scion instead of Toyota. Kinda lame IMO, the article, not making it a Scion.

Yea I saw that. Basically the "authors" main argument was brand image. It was kind of pathetic seeing them complain about the badge and not judging the car on its merits.

Main reason I'm posting right now is because I saw my first FR-S and BRZ at the same time. I saw them at Cars and Coffee in Cleveland today. I chatted both of the owners up about the driving experience. They felt the handling was excellent and the shifter was easy to use. The clutch take-up point is very high, like the S2000. One guy I spoke with thought it was a little underpowered but felt the overall package was excellent. He had his kids in the back seat....and I thought that was about all that could fit back there.
The other guy had traded in a 2G RL for his BRZ! He's a multiple Acura owner as well, having had several TLs. One of the things he likes the BRZ because there is enough room for four wheels/tires with the seats down.
![what](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/what.gif)
The car is certainly striking-looking in person. I certainly like it. The interior in the BRZ is much nicer, but it is certainly acceptable for what the car does in the FR-S.
I'd love to drive either just to get a feeling for a small, RWD car other than my S2000.

Impressive. He even occasionally carries real people in the back seat.

Im surprised those guys fit actual, living, human beings in the back seat. I just thought it was a nicely upholstered shelf
![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
I do agree that the interior on the BRZ is nicer - its much brighter. But the navi unit is garbage from what I've heard. And yes, the clutch engagement point is really high, but I've adjusted the pedal so it catches a bit lower. Its much nicer to drive now, but the clutch itself still needs more feedback.
