Car dies while driving when hot outside

Hey so I can't seem to find out the exact problem with my 91 Acura Integra LS. Starts up fine and idles alright. During the day if it's hot outside mid driving the car will shut off (at night/ cooler temps there's no issue). No choking of jerking motions just clicks off and it'll be in auxiliary mode. Battery and alternator are perfect. The only thing that has stood out is a possible Crankshaft position sensor issue but I have no clue otherwise. Definitely let me know if you have any ideas

Here's your problem: it is 2.5 decades old and I'd move the thread except there is no where to move it to.

Replace the car with a new one. That should fix the problem.

When it cuts off, if the dash lights are still light up, then probably the fuel pump relay. If not then probably ignition switch.

I would change both just to be safe since it's so dangerous to have a car cut out when driving. No power to get it off the road, no power steering, and no power brakes.

Shot in the dark, but we had a company A8, and it had a similar problem. The issue was that the ecu had a crack in it. and when it got hot, it expanded until it gap in the crack shorted the system and it shut down.

Does your car have a temp gauge? If so, does it shoot up when this happens?

sounds like the fuel pump overheats and stops working...

25 years gives it classic car status! OP is not held to modern emission standards. If he can maintain his car, more power to him!

MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor bad? This would create the symptom you're describing...

Run an OBD scan. What errors surface?

I really don't have much of an idea of the problem, I remember 1990-1993 CB7 Accords had a similar problem as well, which may have similar from your Integra... The engine and drive train are different I think (should be Civic or Prelude) but I assume many electronic parts aren't and I think it was a fuel related relay...

Glad to see another vintage Acura/Honda lives on...

Best of luck!!!
