Cadillac V-Series Comes w/ Everything

Did you know the price of 50K or so for the Cadillac V-series includes the nav? and everthing? Basically very few options left for this car. Seems to be a great deal for 50K. It's like getting a Z06 with 2 more doors and a nice interior.

It wouldn't do that great IMO. It's quite heavy. The reason why the Z06 does so well in AutoX is mainly due to it being very light and having a great engine. The CTS-V has the same great engine but it's significantly heavier.

At AutoX this weekend, regular C5 Vette's were getting beaten by some Miata's, Mini's and a few other small cars. Weight and balance mean the quite a lot in AutoX. Luxury cars usually don't do well at all.

I'm sure it has potential as it's an A-Stock car, but I'd rather have a smaller car to AutoX

Z06's, E36 M3's, STis and EVOs all are highpowered cars and make for some of the best autocrossers out there.

cusdaddy- agreed, its heavy and wouldnt do as well. But I'd get a kick out of seeing one out there. Twice now I've seen M5s out on the course. Big, heavy, not great for autoX at all. But hell its nice to see it out there just to see what it can do. Now if the M5 guys can quit being pussies and push their cars a little to see what it can really do and I'll be happy.

I just love seeing different cars out there. My favorite is this dude who X's his GT3....thats HOT!!!

sorry, I meant large cars... cars like the EVO and STi seem to do better in autox b/c of their small size. However the Z06, M5, CLK55, Lambos, Ferrarris... they do better on road courses b/c of how they're such big powerhouses. It takes some serious room to open up that kinda power and they get to show off more in the big road courses.

What I should've said was this : super powerful cars and exotics show their stuff much better on a larger road course.

agreed for the most part.

Go watch a local AutoX event. When you see a C5, modded C4, Modded camaros, or the almighty Z06 run an autoX with a good driver and R race slicks, wellllllll they pretty much own the events. Those cars are SICK at autoX. Gave me new respect for them.

are they? I used to race and watch too... I always thought they suffered big time b/c the little cars were more nimble on such a small track setup.

From my experience (I've been to over 20 AutoX events), Corvette's and Camaro's are pretty weak in smaller AutoX courses. The only version that does really well is the Z06.

Any car with an outstandind driver and great tires will do very well, but put those cars against a miata, S2000, older MR2, Mini and they will usually get beaten. I've seen it many times. Same thing with my Z. It's good, but not great.

Road course racing is there these cars really do well and are able to stretch their legs.

I should have put a next to your quote, because I was basically trying to agree with you but using my experience watching AutoX events as examples

That car is hot....

Back to autoX....The Z06s (running slicks) have beaten-barely, but beaten most other cars out there (m3, m coupe and sti, and Evo included.) granted, these were avg60-65 second courses. But you get a good driver in one, and its rocks autoX. I have no doubt they are AMAZING at road course, just no experience.

The C4, C5, and camaros only do well when HIGHLY modded, and running FAT slicks do well. in stock form, youre right, not so good.

not trying to argue with you guys, this is just what I've seen. Especially after the results are posted.

PS: the one car I havent earned respect for is the Mustang. they suck nuts out there. Though there was this one dude running a hot ass old school fast back, thats was cool to see.

My co-worker just picked up a CTS Spec-v, or so I thought. I'm checking out the car and the rims don't look right. I'm like WTF so I'm checking this and that and I pop the hood and guess what's there?? A V-6!! Apparently you can order the Spec-V package, complete with body kit and badging on any of the mid line CTS's (the bigger of the two V-6 engine options).

FALSE. You can do it yourself but there's no Spec-V option at the dealer to make it look just like one. Think about how much that woudln't make sense... It's like purchasing your CL from the dealer and hav them tell you "well if you don't want to buy the Type-S, there's this factory option where you can get all the type-s badging and have it look ju7st like one"...

uhhh... I think not.
