A/C fan runs A LOT

Obviously summers here are scorchers. When I run my a/c in the van it seems like it's always on. If I turn off the a/c it turns off also. I'm not sure if the car is too hot or what and needed some feedback. Thanks

Not that it's accurate, but what does the temperature gauge read in the van? If it doesn't have one, does it have a warning light? Does the van feel sluggish while driving it?

First off, I wouldn't worry about it. If the cooling system is operating properly and correctly pressurized, then it's not uncommon for the cooling fan to come on while the A/C is operating. The A/C compressor actually puts the engine under load for the most part, and additional cooling is required. Many of my vehicles, especially the trucks, automatically activate the radiator fan when the A/C is on.

That being said, make sure the reservoir is filled to the safe mark, and ensure the radiator is clean and the cap in proper operating condition.

Sorry I should've specificied that the a/c runs perfectly and the temp gauge is at "normal" operating temperatures. I figured it was fine but my mother-in-law shares the car with me so an add'l nag FTL. The coolant reservoir is filled to the max line. THanks guys

The electric fans turn on a lot more with the A/C on because they need to keep the pressures in check in the A/C system. If its hot out its not uncommon for them to be on all the time the a/c is on. THe heat increases the pressure in the a/c system creating a greater need for the fan to run.

My car sound like a plane ready to take off lately because of how hot its been. The fan on my car has been running full blast as soon as the car sits at idle due to the heat and the a/c working harder. Its normal.

My wife pulled in and it sounded like a plane too. My mother-in-law was in my house but I guess she didn't hear it. I will gladly explain everyone's explanation.
