I've been looking for a while and found one for a decent price that didn't need a whole lot. It has some minor surface rust in the usual spots, needs some rear suspension work, the speedometer ticks like hell, and the e-brake doesn't work. All thing's I've already done to my Taurus, this shouldn't be too much different to work on...
It's a 91 GT, I believe the colour is Ultra blue metallic. Interior is gray and in good condition, just needs a cleaning. I'll snap some more pictures of it when it's not snowing outside. I can't wait for the summer...
Onto the hood, which seems to be a controversial topic. Some think it's gaudy and ugly, others think it looks mean and suits this style car. It's made by Cervini's and retails for $495.00. What say you? I don't think I like it...

Functional as in the vents are open, yes. Whether it's really doing anything except keeping everything a little cooler I'm not sure
I also love the options this car has (or lack there of). It has power locks but manual windows. It has a factory manual sunroof and it didn't come from the factory with A/C.

Technically, that's an early 80s Mustang with the refreshed Fox body style coming out in the 1987 model year and lasting until the 1993 model year.
That said,
If I could find one that has not been modified and/or abused, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.

I was lucky to find this one, I think. It seems well taken care of. Lots of reciepts in the glove compartment and aside from the hood it's 100% stock.

$2800>$50,000
I guess I'll take care of what needs to be done, leave the hood as it is and in the summer when I can clean the car up the way I want to I'll put the hood for sale. I'd want to get a replacement hood ready and painted before I sell this one.

The paint does match, I'll get some more pictures of the car tonight. I had spot lights shining on the car when I took the pic, that's why the paint doesn't appear to match.
Yup - you are right. The 3rd generation actually started in 1979 and they had the major face lift in 1987 that lasted until the 4th gen that came out in 1994.

It's ironic that this particular Stang was brought up at about the same time MTV's Jersey Shore show is hitting air. When the wife and I were dating back in the 80s, we used to hang out in Seaside Heights (NJ) A LOT and the 5.0 was typical guido ride (along with the T/A and IROC-Z).
I agree they are a bit of a dog stock, though faster than the SN95 GTs that came after them. Then again who keeps a 5.0 stock anyways?
I've always wanted one as a project car, and still do to this day. They have a lot of potential, and I've heard on some autox boards that subframe connectors help them a lot. Nice purchase all in all, and personally I would ditch the hood.

I sold my 95 5.0 a few months ago and owned an 87 Convert 5.0 about 8 years ago. I am to this day looking for another 87-93 Convert GT Fox body in good condition for a reasonable price. I bought my 95 for $3700 and I couldn't pass that up. Def a NICE find!!!~~
