BMW offering more standard features in order to compete

The 330 will now have standard...
Automatic climate control
Fog lights
Heated mirrors
Cruise control
and the Harmon/Kardon audio system.
Still isn't enough if you ask me.

It's a start though. It's crazy to pay for fog lights in this day and age. The 3 series is supposed to be a sports coupe/sedan, you shouldn't have to pay extra for fogs, tighter suspension...etc.

It's all marketing....Used to be they could get away with stripping down a car so they could advertise the car with a "starting" price of $30,000. Now they don't get it away with it as much because of the competition, i.e. Acura.

Your information is incorrect. All those features, except Harmon Kardon were made standard on the 325 back in March. The 330 gets the HK sound, Sports Supention standard.

Plus for your 30000 dollars you get a neato tape deck and these really slick vinyl seats. With all of these new features standard it still takes 44000 dollars to have a comparible feature set to a Type S with Navi. I know because I was going to buy one two weeks ago. Luckily I came to my senses and decided that the 13000 dollars could buy me a LOT of mods instead.

What was I thinking

If the 330 is 44,000 with the options why not get a base M3?

I agree but with the same options it goes over 50k. Plus it seems like the dealers are selling them like they are gold plated, asking 10-20 over. I had no trouble buying my S2000. Took me a week and I had a MSRP deal. Plus the BMW Sales people I met are not the most pleasant folk.

I will not spend over 50k until it is time for an M5. But I will need the stock market and my stock options to come back before that.
