Anyone get this E-Mail ???

I signed up for the one closest to me down near Philly.
July 24th I’ll be tooling around in the 330Ci manual and the 545i manual.

 

AUTO CROSSING AN X3!?!
I would love to drive the new 545 six speed though. Supposedly its still the ultimate driving machine even though the styling is meh.

Wonder if they'll let 17 year olds in??

danny25 has gone for the past 2-3 years. He says they let you do pretty much whatever you want in the car.

 

yeah, i autox-ed the X3 during this program. pretty fun since i've had never autox-ed before. the x3 wasn't bad at all - much more stable than i thought a suv could be. the thing could use more HP though.

unfortunately, i didn't have time to take out the other cars they had available for the test drive. make sure you get there early to get your name on the list for the nicer cars!

Hopefully I can also try something with the SMG system.
Being a manual tranny guy for the last 20-Years I’d like to see what they run like.
I’m still not convinced I would want to ever give up the third pedal.

I would think my brother and father would of got invited as well, as they are BMW Car Club of America members and we've bought new ones from dealers, so its not like they don't have our info.

Maybe those fockers are holding out on me though.

 

I went to the Benz one back in April, was pretty cool.

I got a call from BMW today.
The 330Ci I was supposed to drive was pulled from the event for what they called “routine maintenance”.
I think that’s code for “it got wrecked during a test drive”.

But anyway, they put me in a Z4 3.0 SMG instead.
So I finally get to see how this system compares to a true manual.

Should be a fun morning between the Z4 and the 545i 6-Speed.

It’s tomorrow…….. I hope they still run if it’s raining.
The weather doesn't look to be too nice.

Had a blast this morning driving the cars……Full report to follow late tonight or tomorrow.
I was so impressed, there’s a new 545i sitting out in the garage.
