Autography...52 cars in 33 years
As cars go, I may have in fact found whatever it is I've been looking for. Maybe it's the search for that ultimate car that keeps me on my pursuit. If there is anything out there like this car, I'm sure it would cost considerably more. If you notice, I've never owned a Porsche or a Mercedes. To me if I can't justify buying at least the middle quality in a line of cars, I won't buy. Not to offend any C Class or 3 Series owners out there, but i wouldn't pay the money for a 5 or an E...and I wont buy an entry level just to say I have a BMW or Mercedes. I know that's not the reason why most buy them, but it's just my point of view.
So this car will be on my books for longer than the usual, unless of course they come out with a higher hp version...

I recently had to part with my M5. I replaced it with a Genesis (for the time being) partially because of your recommendation earlier in this thread.
It won't compare to an M, not even close. Suspension is soft, but your driving lux, not sport. One thing I liked about the R-Spec is it's a bit tighter. Still no carver, but a good mix of sport and lux.
Yeah, I wish I could have found an R-Spec. The 8spd trans working okay? I know there have been some problems with it on the 2011s.

Funny thing is with my 3.8; there is a significant lag with some downshifts. It was just like my Honda Ridgelines. They need to boost the signal of the dbw signal to fix it...in my opinion. Other than that, up shifts are flawless. You almost can feel them.
ETA: What size tires come on the stock 19s on the R-Spec?
I agree with you fully on this statement. 19 cars in 10 years (26yrs old) myself and I couldn't ask for a better companion on my long commutes / drives. I think I may hold onto her instead of selling / trading in my usual 12-18 months.
Just the MSA cat deletes as of right now.
The SRI isn't worth it as the motor becomes extremely heat soaked and really the SRI is just a noise maker. Remove the secondary baffle in the main intake track and you have an OEM ice box as it'll pull air in from the front bumper just below the head light.
Megan coilovers are here... just awaiting word on the camber kit.
I'm trying to gather all the KDM part numbers for this model and do some comparisons.
The biggest improvement will come from a tuning solution. Right now the OEM tune has her running rich as a pig. Fix that and you've opened up a whole new realm of possibles.

Hey guys, it's been a while. I guess I need to add a few cars here. I've actually rewritten this on tumbler, but here are the additions;
As usual, work gets in the way again. We added another new product that requires towing and the R-Spec was the sacrifice. It only weighs 1800 lbs, but I just couldn't see a tow hitch on the Genny.
So in comes a 2013 Santa Fe limited and out goes my favorite car out of all of them. The Santa Fe is a great CUV, but leaving 429 hp and getting in to 290 hp just leaves you feeling a little...slow. I will say that compared to the Ridgelines we used to drive, the Santa Fe is a dream. It's quiet and holds the proper gears. I manage 19 mpg towing on the highway, where it was 13mpg with the Honda. I average 27 mpg highway without towing and 19 around town. Hyundai put a lot of effort into reducing NVH in this vehicle. It is quieter than even the Genesis 3.8 we still have, and rides almost as well. Little things like heated steering wheel and heated front and rear seats will be appreciated this winter. The adjustable steering "feel" is noticeable but doesn't do much to make it a "carver" but it is a CUV after all. Pictures to follow along with the other two new rides.

My youngest son was done modifying his 2003 Lancer OZ and decided he wanted something new. Being acquainted with the CEO of Hyundai has it's perks, and he decided that a new Veloster Turbo was the call. It had to be black with the blue accented black interior, and it had to be a stick. One phone call was all it took and we had it in the driveway at actual dealer cost (not invoice). Now the mod bug has bitten after 5,000 miles and we've introduced the Veloster to a few friends; Injen, Borla and Pierce (high flow cat)
