Audi R8- Fail Pics

A 33 year old Man from the town "Woerden" have crashed an Audi R8 during a test drive. He made Saturday afternoon a test drive with a brand-new Audi R8 that not end very well. He made a drivers mistake and the R8 end as a result of it in a ditch. The car is for certain a total loose, the driver and passenger remained unhurt.

The R8 stands at us in "Bodegraven" and is probably no longer repairable say director Westdijk of Van Beynum car repair Ltd.
He values the total damage on ± 200.000,- Euro's.

On the road "Milandweg" in the village "Woerdense verlaat" where 80 Km/h have been permitted, but according to the neighbouring people the R8 drove a lot faster then 80 Km/h. Rumours say 200 km/h would be closer to the truth. According to the police, the driver and driver's mate have however explained that they drove approximately 130 kilometres per hour...

Reads to me like it was translated into English from some Nordic language.

200K euros is a little high for the repair. It's more than it costs new.

So does he have to pay for it if it was just a test drive?

That's the first thing I though. I've never gotten that buck on a test drive. Maybe I should!

The blackbox found in the Audi R8 reads the following moments before the crash: "please don't hit the river! please don't hit the river! Damn god!! DAMN IT!! GOD DAMMIT!!!!"

As far as the English goes, this came from the Netherlands (Dutch, Amsterdam, legal weed) so cut them some slack on the grammar.

And this is pure fail..... I mean, if you're going to drive this monster at a high rate of speed, you better a) get onto the autobahn or highway b) failing that, you better know the roads you'll be on c) never do this in towns where you can kill people.

Luckily no one was hurt. Hope this dude has to pay for the carnage.

So THAT'S what's under that body panel.

Anyway, dude says he was going 130kph, which is @ 80mph. Rumors say more like 200kph, which is @ 124mph.

I'm going with the rumors. Those are awfully wicked skid marks for an 80mph wreck. Looks like he got it off line onto the shoulder, and then the tank slapper began. Hard to imagine that kind of wildness at 80 mph in a car with AWD, VSA, and yards of rubber on the road.

Regardless, RIP R8.

Bad handling, drives you into a ditch.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the car's fault... as they say... high performance car with a low performance driver = trouble.

He was driving straight on what looks like a 2-lane 1-way road, and he still managed to tread the shoulder and lose control. What a tard.

and that aerodynamic undertray sure made it skip like a rock over that creek!

Sucks. Most dealers here in the US only get 1 per year. The dealership next to the local Acura dealer marks them up $35k and had one sold 2 days after it arrived, and the other about two months before it got here.

Just the fact that it almost made it across that body of water gives the R8 some points in my book.
