Audi A4 Avant Vs BMW Touring
My wife wants to buy a wagon and I think these are the best. I drove the BMW 325i touring. Great handling but small cargo area and rear wheel drive. My local dealership has no A4 1.8 avant in stock and I was wondering if anyone has driven the new A4 with quattro or has advise. I live in Canada and plan on driving in the winter . Initially was going to trade in the CLS but I love the car and plan on keeping for a few more years and may store it in winter.

1.8T Avant Quattro seems to be the only choice if you are in Canada.
I beleive there is a AWD 325IX also. But my personal choice is Audi.
FYI, my coworker just bought a Subaru WRX wagon - AWD, Turbo, excellent handling. It's an alternative choice for under 25K choice.

Thanks for the info. I like the WRX, but mife wife wants more luxury features than power. I think the audi and BMW are much more refined. The problem is they have no A4 in stock so I may have to order it in.

If you like the A4, you could try a Passat 1.8T ... or 2.8L 4Motion if you need AWD.
The Passat Variant (as they call the wagon) is a nice looking car, and should be cheaper than the A4. I dunno what VW service in Canada is like compared to Audi however. Just thought I'd offer that alternative.
