Anyone own an Oil Extractor ?

I was thinking about buying one of these for myself, mainly to extract the used engine oil from the dipstick tube and used transmission fluid through the dipstick tube:

Undoubtedly, it is possible in most cars to extract all (or even more of) the used engine oil through the dipstick tube due to the orientation of the dipstick tube with the oil pan.

However, my main question is with the automatic transmissions. It seems as though, within the models that still have a dipstick, the success of extracting the entire pan contents vary depending on car to car, mainly due to problems with the dipstick orientation.

So, has anyone successfully extracted the full 3.0 quarts of ATF from their Acura or Honda through the dipstick tube? Has anyone had any experience with extracting all of the transmission fluid through the dipstick tube in GM units?

I know of someone with a '97 Olds van with the GM 4T65E unit who was able to extract 6 qts out of the 7.4 a pan drain normally removes, OTOH, he was able to extract the full 5 qts the pan holds in the 42LE transmission of his '99 300M.

TIA.

I have been able to take out 4.2qt engine oil out of my car with the Oil Extractor. Most dealers use it as well now.

I have the pneumatic one from Griot's garage.

I haven't used it for transmission fluid. Just engine oil. And I don't ever get the full amount out.

Me too...and I always get all the oil out (I checked a couple times in the beginning and there was only a few drops remaining when I removed the plug).

Extractors don't work for Subaru engines, for what it's worth, they have a baffle blocking the extractor from getting to the bottom of the pan. A lot of Suby dudes get the Fumoto oil plug valve. I got one but de-installed it. Just didn't seem right to me.

I've never tried to get all the tranny fluid out of a car...it has worked well for oil however.

Sup, Mike. You know I love my Pela 6000 and it gets all the oil out in most cars. Tranny service is kewl too. Most people don't realize you can leave the filter on for 2 oil changes.
