Anyone know of a really nice looking metallic black?

I am going to repaint my mustang and want to paint it a non-oem color. I am just looking for ideas on a black that has a lot of depth to it, because I have always wanted it to be black.

And it'll be done right, panel-off paint job. Wont be cheap tho.

What's wrong with Ford's black? It's classic, like a Model T.

Nothing wrong with it, just dont want a plain-jane color if I'm dropping $3k for a paint job.

GTO's have a nice metallic black. Just make sure you put a decent layer of clearcoat over it.

subaru's black with the gold flakes, acura's nighthawk black pearl, and whatever black metalic they put on chrysler 300's (there's a lot of flake in it) are my votes...i like all three.

If you get it painted a honda color, I hope it wont chip and swirl as easily as OEM paint jobs.

I think Mercedes has some damn good paint, not sure which color black I would go with though.

If we're talking Porsche paint, I can't believe you didn't mention Basalt Black. That color his sweet. Though I'm with you on Slate Grey. That's my first choice (unless I get a GT3...when Speed Yellow is the only way to go).

anyone know if its a single stage or multi stage paint? That really affects the cost to paint.
