Another dealer trick?

I received an "authorized buy back notice" from my friendly Acura/Suburu dealer today

They will buy back your 2000-2008 Acura for FULL MSRP, based on NADA car guide.

It goes on to say, "obviously, your current vehecle must be in safe working condition, normal wear and tear and free of paint and collision damage. The only deductions will be made for mileage ( .10-.65 depending on model and condition-minimum 15,000 miles/model year) We don't want to scrutinize every aspect of your trade.

We only want to sell you a new car for a payment less then you ever thought possible. LMAO

I figure I have a 2005 tl with 92,350 miles and she's clean But I'm sure I'll fall into the .65 deduction range.

Let's see I'm 17,350 over the "average" miles, so that's a $11,277.50 deduction. I think I paid around 34,000 Back in Jan, 05.... SOOOOO ya think I can get $22,722.5 from a dealer???? Me neither

Stay tuned I'm going over there this afternoon, Just to have fun with them..

I would call or email first, spending unneeded time in a dealership is not my idea of a good time. Those $5,000 coupons and stuff like what you received are all scams, negotiate a good and fair deal when you need/want to, not when they tell you that you should. You can bet your ass a dealership will not agree to a deal that they will lose money on, if it seems too good to be true it probably is.

They will buy back your 2000-2008 Acura for FULL MSRP, based on NADA car guide.

The key is what is FULL MSRP? NADA guide can be used to find out the value of used cars, so I'm thinking it's like saying we will give you actual trade-in value of your car minus any overmileage.
Wouldn't they do that on any good day anyway?
Dealerspeak.

They probably just want you to take the car for an "inspection" and then they'll try to convince you to buy a new car..

I get that from my Nissan dealer at least once a month. It's just a way to get them to get you to come in. Do what I do....rip it up and throw it away..

Better than a Jack with no intention of buying a car who has nothing better to do with their day.

This is the right way to be! I wish more people were like you. Go to the auto show or the shopping mall if you want to look at cars!

I changed the tires on my 06 tsx at 74,000 miles and the original brakes are still good at 95,000+miles.
I get those offers often-in the garbage they go.

I don't doubt it about the brakes, I bought a new TSX in 04 and put 45k miles on it and when I traded it in the brakes still looked like they were half good - at times I regret selling that car

If I want to look at cars, I go to the dealer on Tuesday. Here in Japan, they are closed that day, so it's perfect. I ask no questions, no vultures to bother me, and I get to see the cars up close.

And if a guy has a name like Dick, then call him RC, short for Richard Cranium.

I love the "we'll give you $5,000 over book value for your trade!!" offers.....always seem to be from a Kia or Hyundai dealer - you know, the ones with the HUGE markups that could possibly make that work- not. Makes it all the more unbelievable, yet i still keep meaning to challenge them on it (for sport), probly with the wife's minivan...shyt tackin on 5k would probly double the value
