Almost back in the Acura family

Close but no cigar. Was trying to talk the wife into an MDX but she just doesn't like the front grill so we picked up a 2016 Ford Explorer Limited yesterday. Traded in a 2015 Accord EX-L V6 which wasn't doing it for her. Good to see much hasn't changed around here. So I had put together a list of vehicles that I have bought (pretty much all brand new) and realized that my 2001 CL-S was #7 and with this Explorer, I am up to 23. I think I have a problem many of you can relate to

Here a few pics of the Explorer and you can see my Sierra as well. Right now, I also have a Tundra, a UTV, a couple Sea Doo's, a brand new Yamaha golf cart, and a 2015 Class A motorhome. What I need is a bigger garage!!!

I wish I still had my GXP. Hands-down the best and longest car I ever owned and 100% problem free. In 3 years, when I turn 40, I've already informed my wife that I am getting a brand new Z06.

Bummer, talk about unicorn status. It's rare to see a GT in auto, let alone a GXP in a manual.

Nice rides

You got rid of your GXP?

But congrats on the new Explorer. I also could not get my wife to look at the MDX. We ended up with a Buick Enclave.

We had a 2008 Enclave and she loved it. It was a good vehicle.

Nice Explorer! Did you go with the 2.3L EcoBoost, or the 3.5L V6?

I like the facelift, but what do you think of the grille? I like the Sport trim grille the best, the high gloss black. I wonder if it could be easily swapped out.

Ford is doing it right with the explorer! Am I the only one that thinks that 2015 end front looks so much better?

No. The facelift looks pretty good IMHO. The Explorer has come a long way and is a much better SUV than in times past.

No,

The 2015 front end looks better IMO, I could be biased though...

The 2016 reminds me of the older explorer's for some reason, the front end anyways.

OP you will love your Explorer, I love mine.

It's the 3.5. I'm not sold on Ford's small Ecoboost engines and definitely not enough to pay more for one.

I like the grill. It's a nice change. I was getting bored with the previous. We had a 2013 Explorer for over 2 years.

Thanks. We had a 2013 and she loved it so I am a bit bias towards the new grill I might consider swapping it out with the Platinum grill which I like more.

Soccer mom special. Well, as long as she's happy right. Good call on the V6, that Ecoboost option is beyond stupid.

I don't think so. I didn't have time. It sold in one day and I got 34K for it and it was 4 years old.

Yes, you are the only one on the entire planet that thinks so.

Haha, why do people say "Am I the only one?". Silly.

The 2.0L EB in my ST has been excellent. Not a single problem. I'm definitely more than sold on Ford's EcoBoost engines. So much so that I'd love to have the 2.3L in the RS in the future.

But glad you are loving the Explorer.

+1. Favorite thing about my car. Absolutely fantastic engine. They definitely take a few thousand miles before fuel economy reaches the EPA rating, however.

I just wasn't particularly impressed with the 2.0 in my 2013 Fusion Titanium. The 3.5 V6 in my 2015 Accord felt more powerful and I could easily stay above 40 MPG on the highway.
