Well, fortunately, we can actually look up TSBs here: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/tsbs/

So, I picked 2008.
- The TSX has 4 TSBs listed, as does the TL.
- Audi A4 has 41.
- The BMW 3-Series has 81. (But if you just select the 328i, there are 3; 7 for the 335i)
- Ford Mustang has 17.
- Honda Accord has 4.
- Infiniti G35 Sedan has 19, 16 for the G35 Coupe, 18 for the G37 Coupe
- Lexus IS350 has 10
- Subaru Legacy has 4, Imprezza has 7.

I think that should be enough for some conclusions.

From personal experience-my 06 is rattle free and has none of the problems this acura mechanic talks about. Excellent car IMO-

Indeed, it sounds like that tech is due for a 'lighten up Francis' response.

Then again, it was the first model year...

OP, if you see the mechanics again, tell him to spend 5 minutes a day staring at the following picture to achieve a zen like attitude:

I thought I was the only one that noticed. It instantly made me think the tech was full of crap. My suspicion after reading everything (like a few others) was that he was just trying to sell that extended warranty. Maybe he meant some other steering/suspension part.

The turbo encabulator on the 3G TL is notoriously awful. Muffler bearings go out randomly as well, sometimes catastrophically failing. I figure this is a good time to mention that we have a special on the extended warranty...

disgruntled worker. He fixes the cars so of course he's going to see all the problems. I'm sure he would have a field day at a chevy garage.

Blinker fluid is another issue, it fails and your blinkers burn out. Make sure next time your at the dealer you have them inspect it ASAP.

He really really recommended me to get the extended warranty, its $2500, but well worth it. He said one major problem and it will pay for itself. Before I firmly said NO to the warranty, now Im seriously considering...

I don't care, I'm not selling my car even with all the problems I still love it and will keep it..thinking about that warranty tho...

No joke... my Toyota was running low and they wanted to charge me a ton of money to refill. Luckily I had the extended warranty and it was all covered.

Like what everyone said he's either a disgruntled worker or giving you a sales pitch. My 3G is currently at the dealer with a broken TB at just a little over 50K and its very frustrating not to mention the crap the dealer gives you (I had to take mine in since it is still under the powertrain warranty). They tried to pinpoint the problem back to me, from driver abuse to neglect of maintenance to using wrong fluids, Its really all BS. I can go on and on but if I can avoid the dealer I will! Will I buy another Acura? Yes I will, if they will get better designs. Will I buy it from the same dealer even though its closest? HELL NO!!

I would not want to be a honda or toyota mechanic simply due to the fact that because of the reliability of these cars you wont get as much work as a mechanic who works for bmw, mercedes or most of the other euro brands. Thats where the money is.

Not necessarily true. The main mechanic I use specializes in Hondas and other Japanese brands and is usually booked for weeks. It just happens that his customers have high-milage cars.

Every make has problems.

The engine intakes sucking up water? What, are they driving their cars down boat ramps, trying to be the next James Bond?!

It's even worse when you have to service the wheels for Hamster related F.O.D.
