Aaahhh!!!

These little nob gobblers. Go suck it. I might write that in the memo on the check.

I guess you all know what this means...no more parking on the street during enforcement hours!

I feel your pain man.

I've gotten 3 tickets already for no front license plate. I was forced to put it on. I can't stand giving the city money for such a STUPID reason!

Oh well....

The RL looks soooooooo much better without the front plate but we've already gotten three tickets for it so no more. As if those cocksuckers don't have anything better to do.

I'm sorry if I am asking a obvious question. I don't live in a place where front plates are mandatory, but what is the big deal with having front plates, and then paying a fine for not doing so. If it's the law requiring front plates, isn't it easier just to comply?

I don't see people running no plates front or back, and just throw plates on when they park...

55 dollars for no front/rear plates? I didn't know it was that expensive. My friend got a no front plate ticket, and that was only 10$

I haven't got caught yet for my M3. No front or rear plates ^__________^

EDIT: Sorry about your ticket, though. The city just wants your money, so they find the littlest shit to ticket you on.

Many cars with aerodynamic front bumpers don't leave you with any choice but to drill holes to mount the plate bracket. It just looks ugly and it irreversibly defaces the bumper/paint.

x2 on the ugly. Cars like the TL and my Accord have this giant cocksucker of a front plate bracket that looks completely out of place Can't believe they charged you $55 for that.

After hours nobody will care, but if you're parking in the city during normal parking enforcement hours I'd take it to a parking structure or underground garage. The meter maids wont follow you in there.

What does the Front License plate statute read? Does it say it must be affixed to the front bumper? Or does it say it must be visible on the front of the car? If it reads the latter plead not guilty or petition the fine citing that your front plate was mounted on your window visor or dash.

You got to learn to play the game.

^ We are fighting it, at least will attempt to.

It happened to my brother in law, but from what he researched, the license plate has to be fixed to the front of the car. So we'll see I guess. He wrote a letter, I'll update with what ends up happening.

THANK YOU! I'm going to see whether they will make some for the CTS/CTS-V crowd. I'm not drilling my bumper, either! I wish I'd thought of that solution. I haven't been ticketed for no plate yet, but a solution like this is really fast and inexpensive.

Not in LA. Beverly Hills issued me 3 no front plate tickets between the hours of 12am to 3am. Also, during those "after hours" most parking structures are closed and is not really a viable option; at least this is what happens in LA.

No front plate tickets and tint tickets are dumb. I know my logic is flawed, but if other states function fine without them, why should your state require them?

I agree. Our state has the law where we need to have plates and 50% tint. If other states allow darker and the police are fine with it every one else should.

I like the spin on plate idea. Ill have to look into that for my dads Genesis. (im still screwed though lol )

Read up on states rights.
These laws are big easy revenue producers. Front plates make it easier to identify the car. Light tints can keep cops from walking right up to serious trouble.

Not difficult to find out what the law is and how big the fine is up front. Don't do the crime if you can't pay the fine.

As a civilian, tint and front plate laws suck. As a cop, they're great.

Oregon is pretty lax when it comes to tint...35% front and rear for cars with 35% front and no limit rear on SUVs, vans, and trucks. Plus, a tint fine is just a "fix-it" ticket and the fine gets waived if you get the tint removed. This does mean you have to pay to have re-installed...the guy who runs tint shop I go to calls it the 'Cool Tax'.

If I don't get a nice quiet spot in a parking garage, I don't go there.

And for those of you who don't know Portland, it is a socialist's paradise aka New Leningrad. They do their best to scare away business, make it inconvenient to go shopping and then tax the hell out of their citizens or fine them. If that doesn't work, they seek federal tax dollars for transportation projects that sometimes go over-budget by 1200% with most of the money going to buddies of the mayor (a child molester and intern rapist)

i took off my front NY plate since i just moved to Miami. its going to take a month for the FL plate to get here. i figured i could get away with cruising around with only the rear plate, like everyone else, even though its a NY plate.

do i stand any chance of getting a ticket in miami for having one NY plate? is that even within their jurisdiction?

In your case you'd probably be able to argue it away if anyone hassled or ticketed you. It could likely stop the meter maids from writing a ticket at all since they couldn't possibly pretend to know the laws in NY State, and who's to say you're not just visiting?

My biggest gripe with Portland is that if it got any more exciting a funeral would break out. It's been accused of being the place twenty-somethings go to retire, and if that's not damning praise I don't know what is.

All of that stuff sucks too though. This region couldn't keep people employed if it's life depended on it.

Heh, I have a "no front plate" fix-it citation sitting in my glovebox. I went five years without any issues and I plan to take it off again when I get it cleared.

That's like half a compliment...this place really is a snooze fest. I should go downtown and see how many pedestrians I can hit on Burnside between 23rd and the bridge.
