$60K- is right. Wow. Just wow... I'm not digging the new 3 and 4 series, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. I just hate that these cars are getting larger and larger.

Well for me, the size of the 3 coupe makes me look like I'm sitting in the back seat so I'd never buy one, but this is a different story in the 4.

While I bought my '09 E93 335i as a CPO, I did see the original sticker for it...$61k and mine doesn't have every available option. These things get pricey.

So what exactly is the 4 competing with? I always felt BMW did pretty well appeasing every facet of the market with the smaller 3, the more "mature" 5 and the super luxury 7 with the sport coupe 3 and super coupe 6 taking care of their demographic. What's the purpose of the 4?

Rather than a coupe version of the 3-series, it's now a 4. 3 is now for the sedan, wagon, and GT. 4 is for the coupe, convertible, and forthcoming 4 gran coupe. In other words, it's just a badge change and it reflects what BMW has been doing with the relationship between the 5 and 6 series for some time now.
Makes sense to me. Gracias

$60k is M3-tier pricing. Jesus.

Is it possible that, instead of every new car being over priced, possibly the price of all cars is going up? Where's Moog. He knows an overpriced car when he sees one.
The front looks like a Benz with a Bimmer grill.

Technically, you can drop the lighting, driver's assistant, M sport packages, add nav (or tech package) and keep it around 55k msrp
Personally, I would take one with Premium, Nav, M sport, Dynamic Handling (haven't tried it on the 4, but made a huge difference on the F30). I think it builds out to around $58k msrp, and around $55-56k after negotiations or if you go through Truecar.
It's pricey, but if you compare apples to apples, it's right around that ballpark. Nowadays if you build out a similar Q50S AWD or IS350 AWD F Sport, it'll be around $50k. S5 Premium Plus with Nav and sports diff is around $58k, Prestige will be around $62k

i guess it's a good time for those who were thinking about getting a cts-v to saddle up for one, assuming the 2014 ones are gonna be 80k+
that being said, the GT-R went up in price quite a lot compared to its debut

Didn't the CTS go upmarket to go against the 5 series and the ATS is now against the 3 series? So $80k+ CTS-V vs $90k+ M5 still sounds pretty good.

I've always liked the idea that the CTS-V was basically M3 money for M5 power. Oh, and how the sedan, coupe, and wagon are all priced practically the same.
