Guys,

Im not sure where to post but to be less biased, I think this is the perfect spot.

Im thinking of downgrading for everyday drive.

I really like the looks of the new ILX but TLX is also nice. I think the difference is the back seat legroom and weight of the car?

Pricing I think are very close?

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

TLX all day over the ILX if you can afford it... ILX is cheaply made. I refuse to taje it as a rental from the dealer. Good luck with your purchase.

How long is your commute and do you frequently have passengers?
Will this is be your 2nd car?

TLX is just the better car but my understanding is that the ILX is the more fun car.

If it were me and it is a 2nd car, I would take the ILX between the 2. I would rather have a Civic SI to be honest.

They're both nice cars, depends on what you want. ILX is cheaper in the long run, but not as nice. Go with the TLX, it shouldn't be much more anyway.

ILX will def be cheaper even fully loaded. So if you want to save a few grand, go that route. Both will make an excellent daily, both will be fun to drive. ILX will be more nimble and sportier though. I wonder if the '16 ILX will get PAWS as standard?

Wait for the next gen ILX, which will have the same 8DCT and 2.4L-I4 as the TLX, and probably for less money.

TLX is a more expensive car.
With this comes more luxury and over all size.

So if you want to downgrade the ILX is a great car.
The TLX may still be a downgrade coming from higher end cars but the TLX is a superior to the ILX hands down.

I own an ILX and love every minus of it. I have a few tasteful mods. 1.5in drop, intake, downpipe, wheels and tires plus some slight cosmetic changes and I would say it now turns more heads than a stock TLX. However obviously the TLX is still a nicer car; quicker and with more luxury.

Now obviously all my words are for the 1st gen ILX. No one owns the 2016 refresh so none of us can say how great of a car that is. Entirely new transmission as well dash design so we'll see how that goes.

For reference and some whoring... here is my 2013 ILX TECH. Great daily driver that doesn't break the bank for someone of my financial level.
I still have money to do my thing and mod it slowly. TLX I probably couldn't comfortable afford.

...and costs more.

I really hope it goes without saying that the TLX is a better car. ILX is entry level TLX is not. You get what you pay for.

Yeah. You made your point. You don't have to defend your point in every other guys posts.

OP, in your case, I would go with TLX Tech.

ILX just looks like a melting tofu in person. It's a overpriced Civic to me which actually is partially true. It looks better in the pictures and that's not a compliment since it's not pretty even in the pictures.

And if it was my choice to make, I wouldn't get ILX nor TLX.

ILX with tech will MSRP for around $33K. TLX 2.4 with tech will MSRP for $36K.

Between the 2, I'd definitely go with the TLX 2.4 w/Tech. TLX will be more refined.

TLX - more bang for your buck and if the above pricing is correct, well worth the minimal jump in price.

My friend picked one up a couple of months ago and can't stop talking about it, just absolutely loves his TLX Tech.

while I am not quite of the same opinion of the quality, the savings you realize in gas imho does not justify the shrinkage in car interior size.

for that $$$ I'd rock a Subaru Legacy 3.6R with every option available including eyesight.... and still get decent gas mileage for a flat 6 AWD.

Accord touring comes with 90% of the features of the TLX advance (no AWD though) for $10k less. TLX is not worth it over the Accord.

ILX? lol. nice civic bro.

^^ will drive the TLX guys nuts.

In all seriousness though, it's probably subjective as to whether or not the TLX Tech is worth the $6k premium over the Accord Touring. LINK

usdmJON, I'm not a big fan of the ILX but yours looks very sharp.

IMO, it's definitely not worth the price difference especially when you factor in the fact that the Touring also includes active cruise control, visible exhaust tips, and doesn't have a beak.

I actually enjoy driving more a smaller manual car - that is still possible at Acura for 2015 (not 2016 we were told).

Automatic I would take the TLX. Nevertheless, small is beautiful and the ILX is understated ; it is a very good car in person and pics don't give it justice.
