2009 Infiniti FX35?

Anyone own or seriously considered purchasing an '09 Infiniti FX35? I just spend two weeks and 2200 miles driving my wife and two kids around Arizona and Utah in one (Hertz rental) and loved every minute of it. While it has love it or hate it looks and it's smaller on the inside than I expected, I was blown away by nearly every other aspect of it -- handling, power, ride, solid feel, gadgets & gizmos, -- and the sweet exhaust sound. I've been close to pulling the trigger and ordering an '09 335i (E90, M-Sport) for several months but the fact that BMW can't seem to solve the HPFP issue and quality seems to have taken a turn for the worse has kept me on the sidelines. Now that I've spent a few weeks with an FX35 I think my decision may have gotten a little harder and I'm afraid of what might happen if I test drive the FX50.

please feel free to browse thru and/or ask questions with the guys here:

www.infinitiscene.com

I'm "trainerKEN" there... but I have to admit, for personal reasons, I haven't been there lately. This forum caters to FX and EX owners... however, since there aren't much EX members, it's pretty much ALL FXers.

(ps, I wish mine has 7 speed)

oh, and the FX50? I guess it'll keep up with a V8 Mustang

Bad ass car, I have an older one but have driven the new one numerous times. The front takes some getting used to since it looks like the lower bumper is missing and I wish they were offering the clear "sport" tails but the interior is amazing.

Here are some pictures of my 09 FX35 Blk/Blk with Premium and Nav packages

Infinitiscene is a good site for FX info. My user name on there is ATL_FX35. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

I've had the car for about 2 months now and the only dislike I have is actually the 7spd tranny. It's not as responsive as the older 5spd. I still own the 06 G35 coupe and prefer the 5spd.

Driving in DS mode and using the paddle shifter makes it more enaging to drive. If you have been considering the 335 I would suggest you drive the FX50s. Since BMWs are more of a drivers car. You will like what the FX50s as to offer. The added HP and upgraded suspension (CDC and rear active stear) will definitely add some fun to your daily drive.

Overall the fit and finish of everything in the car is perfect. All the tech features work well togather. Like you said the styling is love or hate. I've grown to like it.

I've heard they are offering pretty good deals on these. I can send you a link with some additional info if you need it.

Thanks for all the info. I've been reading through the threads on the Infinitiscene forum and very few people have anything negative to say about the FX, in fact, everyone seems to love them. I saw a few complaints about the 7-speed hunting for the right gear and did notice that myself when driving in the mountains, but it wasn't really that bad. I checked out the prices for the FX50 and $60K is just too steep so if I do get an FX, it will most likely be the FX35 (unless Infiniti has a change of heart and decides to bring the FX37 to the US in 2010).

They had a FX50s (Blk/Blk) parked right at the front of the dealer when I bought my FX35. I wanted it soo bad but couldn't pay the extra $$ for it

I went with my friend yesterday to test drive a new FX35 fully-loaded w/ 20" wheels, and I must say, I'm impressed. Definitely a step up from my 05 FX35 w/ sport/tech. The cooled seat option is a nice touch!

I'm sure it is, but no demo's were available, just one on the floor.
He wasn't really there for the FX anyway, his lease is up on his G37S coupe and he's deciding between another G37S coupe or the convertible...

To add fuel to the fire. Here is link to a guy who got an ok deal on trading in EX35 for FX50s

http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothrea...up-my-ex35-for

There is $5K in dealer cash back and he got 5.25% rate. I know there are incentives on the FX35 as well. I'm sure you can work out a deal locally.

Just drive one so you can compare the cars you are considering

$10.5K below MSRP is pretty sweet and actually puts the FX50 within striking distance of my budget. But, I checked the Infiniti website and they only mention special financing offers -- no current cash back offers. I take it the cash back offer just ended?
