2009 Acura TSX commercials
What do you think? I myself don't like the rear taillights, why only 2 circular taillights pattern. I prefer the ones on the 1st gen TSX, which had 4 circular taillights.

I hate the new Acura commercials. The people, setting, and scenario make it seem like they are advertising for snotty, metro sexual males that need a college text book in front of them at all times to get through life.
I prefer Acura when it was more like this.

This car is so sophisticated that it takes information supplied by the satellite navigation to determine the exact position of the sun so it can adjust the air-conditioning to suit.

Those commericials arent bad. It's attacking that group thats trying to get itself established, but cant just yet afford the M3 or330i and will have to settle for a 328i.

Aside from the NSX of the recent past it hasn't had anything that's a sports car since the ITR.

I like the ads. Acura has clearly targeted its market for the TSX in the ads--youngsters who are looking for their first luxury car.
I also like the new TSX's looks--the grille is nicely integrated. I'd be satisfied with a TSX if I were just starting out....especially a 6MT model.
What I REALLY want to see is Acura's attempt to sell the MMC RL. I have no idea how they're going to sell that ugly-ass grille on it...

Even in its stock form it is track-ready and outhandles a large number of RWD or AWD competitors. I understand where you're coming from regarding the S, and I've owned the S myself, but I'd still consider the ITR as a sports car. While I haven't driven one myself, the DC5R has always been praised as the best handling FWD car and handles better than most RWD cars (so is the DC2R, I believe).
I think we can agree that 1/4 mile times doesn't necessarily make a car sports car, as you also considered the S as a 'true sports car', since the S is nothing spectacular in this department either, only very slightly faster than a DC5R, if any.

I really liked the first gen. TSX, I drove one for almost 3 years(the longest I've ever kept a car) and this new one does nothing for me. If this was the TSX that was available when I bought mine, I wouldn't have bought it. It seems every new generation of a platform is one step further from what I want, and this is hardly exclusive to Acura, cars just keep getting heavier and more bloated and I don't like it.

TSX's MPG is underrated. Anytime i've had one for a loaner I've gotten 35 mpg on the freeway.

I almost got the TSX with a 6M, until the SO mentioned an auto trans- but the TSX was on of the most balanced of the cars I drove in 2005.
The new TSX definitely looks too stylized in photos and is much too large for its class of car.
I'm hoping Acura doesn't bloat and overstylize the TL. One of the best things in the transition from the 2003 to 2004 2G-3G change was that the TL was shortened and horsepower increased while the suspension and exterior design tightened up.

Nice commercials. It looks better but not there yet.As for the sun and AC feature, the a6 from Audi was among the first cars to get a similar system.
