A car may be a sporting automobile without being a sports car. Performance modifications of regular, production cars, such as sport compacts, sports sedans, muscle cars, hot hatches and the like, generally are not considered sports cars,

saw the TSX commercial for the first time last week.
i liked it. i didn't really get an MTV vibe as posted earlier because it's clear that they're targeting an older demographic. i agree that they're targeting young professionals that are looking for their first luxury car.
i thought the car looked better in the commercial than in photos.
i'm in the minority on this, but i'm starting to like the car more and more. i could do without the grille and wheels, but as i've said before, those are two of the easier things to modify.
i always thought the 1G TSX's were sharp looking but a bit bland. the new ones make my 05 look really bland though.
funny thing happened yesterday, though. the gf was on the acura website looking at the new TSX since she's been itching for a new car.
reaction after seeing pics of the TSX: "wow! i like it!"
then i clicked on "future vehicles ---> 2009 RL"
reaction after seeing pics of the RL: "Ewww! it looks like the accord again!"

take a test drive jedi, my opinions changed on the car after i saw it in person. my gf likes it! she said again that the 1st gen TSX i have looks like a bachelor's car, while the new TSX to her looks like a real luxury car and can fit 5 people comfortably. i was shocked she loved the grill and she said it looks more aggressive.

i agree with your gf. the car looks a lot more aggressive now, and i think it looks like less of a chick's car than the 1g.

Or maybe my idea of "hip" has changed as I approach my 40th birthday in a few weeks.

My boss walked in this morning and started talking about the TSX commercial he saw on tv over the weekend. He knows I have a 1G, so he was all curious and asked how much it goes for and said, "How much, $50k?" LOL....he was totally serious. I set him straight on the price and he was impressed. You really do get a lot of features for the price, and of course opinions on the styling will vary, as they do with any car, but the 2G TSX piqued his interest, and he said, "That's less than a Lexus." Right now he drives a 2004 or 2005 Toyota Avalon (last year of the old body style).

you'd be surprised to see how many people know so little about cars. it's these type of consumers, the "non enthusiasts," that will continue to buy these cars because as said above, they do have great value.
