2006 civic si

wow, anyone see the pics and info on the '06 civic SI ?? looks bad ass... i will definitely be taking one for a test drive when they come out. not only does it have 197hp and a 6 speed, but it has 340 watt 7 speaker sound system and optional navigation system with XM radio. honda has come along way. everytime i think i might wanna try something else out, they come out with something like this!!

I'd just get a good condition used '05 RSX-S. I can't live w/o the leather seats.

Plus, although the new 'si is leaps and bounds better looking than the one it replaces, i'm still not in love w/ its looks.

I heard it handles like a Type R, pretty damn impressive if it's true. If Si handles like previous Type R's, imagine the next Type R's handling.

Read the review in today's paper and they said the same thing.. Handling is much improved over the previous generation and with the RSX Type S engine, its really loves the high rpms...

I don't think there was a EK Civic Si....was there? I know there was a EK Civic Type R and that was pure happiness.

Don't think any hard performance numbers have been published for the car.

As far as concept looking better, think the production car looks pretty much the same as the concept minus all the ricetastic additions.

Reality, quite pathetic. Calling 340watts a stereo rating in the after market is calling it quits... and they are including all speakers and the sub to get that rating which is like adding 5 paper woofers together to = nothing worth while. Can only imagine a boomy ass woofer from Honda.

Agreed.

Although this one looks marginally better than the recent iterations. It also looks better than the RSX.

Hatchbacks are, as a general rule, ugly lumps of shit.

2006 Civic SI

I work for honda and i went to the Civic ride and drive and this little car can hual ass. But it does not have those wheels and the hood and the exhaust tips comming out of the middle of the rear bumber. But the car is still pretty money! It does have 197hp with 138 lbs. torque and it is a close ratio 6 speed. It also has a 350 watt pioneer stero system with 8 inch sub. and 6 disc CD changer in dash! If you get a chance you need to check them out. But they wont touch ground untill December 1st of 2005! That Sucks. Peace.

For stock, I think it's pretty damn good. It's a lot better than what came in my "luxurious Acura"

Hmmm, if these gas prices keep getting higher, this seems like a great 4-banger to consider.

It's supposed to be quite a bit heavier than an RSX-S. I'd take an '05 RSX-S as well and do without the Jetson's dashboard.

One thing that this SI has that no RSX has is the Helical Limited-Slip Differential. I think this SI will out corner the RSX type-S any day. The RSX will still be quicker from a stand still due to weighing less.

Some car magazine I had my nose in this weekend (Car and Driver, I think) said the Si weighs substantially more.

The ricers are going to have a field day with that car. It already has some controversial styling, but the ricer community is going to take that shit to a scarier dimension.

I fear for the future...

But the stock car =

Some design exercises with this one, gonna keep at it until it comes out with a good balance of class and tuner style.

My friend and I were thinking it looked more like a Saturn Redline. Which is not quite as cool as a Transformer.

Well then it's safe to assume that your friend and you are blind.

The Redline looks nothing like it, the redline looks more like the cobalt.

As much as I like other Ronjon kits, the one for the Si looks so , you could be selling tacos right out of the trunk.

Is it this one?

Only resemblance I see is 4 wheels and two doors. They look nothing alike.

Yes, I was thinking of the Ion Redline.

Of course it's not going to look like an exact match, but the RJ kit just reminded me of something Saturn would do.

Even my girlfriend who knows nothing about cars and to her "a car is a car" just said that they don't look alike.

I guess her car knowledge > some of you guys.

You're right young. The windshield reminds me of when Super Street featured those chop top Civics.

I agree. that does look awful.
Granted that new Si looks good IMO, it won't replace my tried and true GS-R.
