2003 BMW Z4 pricing

This is unofficial but I am sure very close to real.

Bottom line, the 2.5 liter will be $38K and the 3.0 liter will be 45K which in my opinion is typical BMW overpricing once again. Sad.

Even though it's overpriced, it will still sell like hot cake.

In what way is it overpriced? If they sell well then how is that overpriced. I love how people consider anything thats out of their league of affordability overpriced. People pay for the panache man, not just performance numbers.

I love how people always scream about BMW's "overpricing", but they can't make enough of them

This car should be pretty good. Modern rear suspension, lightweight, fun

You are incorrectly assuming that the Z4 is "out of my league". If you mean that I could not pay for it, you are wrong (our other car is a $40+K car), but that is not the point here.

By overpriced I mean that in my opinion, this car costs more than it should. What factors determine that? Mainly the competition and the secror's prices in general + a personal subjective factor. You go disagree all you want, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I stated mine. You state yours. That is what forums are for. Commenting.

how can a 30k car bounce up 8k??? Sure it's new and improved (not that much), but an 8k price hike is way too much. Plus the TT starts at about 33k. The SLK is more expensive because it's a benz, plus it has a hardtop. BMW is being greedy if these prices are true. I hope they are wrong because there is a small chance of me buying a convertible this summer...It would be a TT or a Z4 (WAY too early to tell).

Wait, I take all that crap i just said back. I just looked at the pdf and the base price is 33k/40k (2.5/3.0). Gav's prices were fully loaded...which most of them are, but what he said was deceiving. Funny how BMW puts cruise control as an option on the 2.5. Now if you guys don't think that's "typical BMW" then i don't know what is

It was not deceiving. That was the reason why I started my sentence with "Bottom line...."

people are buying them for the name and reputation, But thats their reason. I bought my car because I drove all the competition and felt that I am getting more car for the money, i was not looking to impress onlookers and win a popularity contest. My wife has a 323i and that thing cost more than my cl-s. I can't count how many times she wants to drive my car when we go out and How I don't want to ride in that smaller and slower beemer. She also has to pay 50 bucks for an oil change and brakes cost an arm and a leg every 5 months. Either thay are lying about how often she has to change them or the car is just a POS. I personally like the styling but thats where it ends.

Overpriced is probably the wrong word.

Lets look at some of the options... His prices are loaded. Keep in mind you wont find these options in other lower priced roadsters... lol, or any others i can think of.

Fully Automatic top
8way electric seats on both sides
Sycamore wood trim
On board computer (trip...)
Autodimming inside and outside mirrors
Rain sensing windshield
(try and find these options on another roadster)

$38k is a bit high... mabye if you load it up gavriil

$33,100 MSRP 2.5L
+695 shipping and handling ($33,800)

And you'll have same options as S2000
Dude, $4k in options is loading it out... You obviously want to pimp.

$40,000 3.0L
+695 shipping
Also have same options as a S2000
You've also added an extra $4k to this puppy.

Granted I agree, it does seem a bit high. But it's in a class of it's own...

I wouldnt buy one either. But it will certainly sell at those prices.

Umm, does everyone know BMW includes the 1st 3 years of general maintenance in their cars now?

"As part of BMW's complete commitment to your driving pleasure and safety, we include Full Maintenance at no additional cost on every new 2002 model year BMW purchased from any authorized BMW center in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. "

Can't complain about that one anymore...

Does everyone like the Z4 styling? I personally think it's FUGLY!

hahahaha

if it were too cheap, it would be everywhere..when u pay the bmw price, yes to some extent u pay for the name, and u pay for exclusivity.

stop hating on BMW's..u guys are weak.

wait til that M version comes out... gonna be great... I love the new body style... my dad's college roommate works as an engineer there and is getting one this year, the 3.0 that is not the M which one come out for a few more years I think... he asked us if we want to buy it from him in a year for about low 20s... we might take him up on it since dad really wants a new car... his '89 300E isn't cuttin' it anymore...

3 series = bottom end BMW
CL type-s=top end sport Acura coupe
TL type-s=top end sport Acura sedan

One is better running off the motto "buy the best of what you can afford vs. the worst of what you can't"

Some will admit they can't afford BMW, others will find excuses. And some really don't like BMW.

Which is why most of us believe the CLS and TLS is better. But your driving the best of Acura. And it's not as nice, as the worst (but more $$$) 3 series BMW (equally equipped). Only arguable thing is speed and $$. Options and Material quality BMW wins hands down. Style? well, thats up to the person. You can get more options on a loaded 3 series, hands down. Stuff Acura hasn't even considered.

For instance one of my favorite options my buddy does all the time, he hold two button on his remote control and ALL of his windows go automatically down. And the same button sequency will put all of them back up.

BMW's are pretty slick, and certainly not for someone trying to save money. Honda (acura) has always been known (matter of fact it's part of their motto) light, efficient, affordable cars.

It's neat the CLS can out accelerate the 330, but it *doesn't* come close to beating it out on the inside (go look at it's options). And well, the outside I leave to ones discretion.

I have to agree with some of this.
If I could afford the BMW I wanted, I would definitely get it.
The problem is that the BMW I want probably comes in at over $60K.

I have a co-worker who is in the exact same place as me with regards to salary, seniority, and all that. I got the CLS and he got a 325i with very few options, and I have never looked back. I tease him that his car had to give up its balls to get that blue and white logo on it. I don't know what pricing on his car was like, but the two have to be close.

Now there is no question that an M3 didn't have to give ANYTHING away to get that bmw logo, but the M3 also is rightly priced significantly above the CLS and the base-model 325i.

In my mind, when it comes down to it, people who buy the M3 are buying a car and people who buy a base-model 325i are buying a logo. It's like a good pair of levi's that will do their job for years versus an overpriced pair of designer label jeans that wear out in one season.

Just my .02 and probably only worth a penny.

You know that like any new car, dealers order the most loaded cars they can get. And because we are talking about BMW, this tendency is even more intensified. And even more so when we are talking about a roadster BMW which is...a...show car. You know what I mean. And let's not start with price gouging with BMW dealers. I bet the first 3.0 liters will be fully loaded and will sell for $50K and maybe even more during the first months.

The rumor right now is that there will be a 260HP version of the Z4 and it has not been determined if it will be called an M version. No plans for a 333+HP version.
