my dad works at the AEP(anna engine plant) He's been there for about 22 years so he's kind of high up. He told me they've had a few V-8s in there for testing so I give it maybe 5 years. My personal thoughts are the new SUT is a test for the market(like they did with the mini-van) They come out with a little one if you remember right. Then when they come out with a 1/2 ton pickup it will have a V-8.(probably DOHC)

First the 4-Door..…..Then the Coupe…….Then the Limited edition 6-Speed Coupe. Does that plan sound familiar?
That would fit right into timeframe to buy something new in 2007/2008.

Well, 'acura fanatics' can't bash the nissan interiors anymore...This RL's console looks like a nissan tech built it.

But, looks good to me anyhow...

I think that interior screams TL, which to me, looks like an Acura interior. I don't see any Nissan in it?

I don’t complain just to complain. It’s positive feedback.
I bitched about the Slush-Box in my 2001 CL-S back in 2001 and look what I’m driving now.

It’s proof that Acura DOES read these forums for feedback, so I’ll telling them what I want.

The interior DEFINATELY looks Nissan-like. How do you guys not see it? Not all of it, but just look at the small buttons on the center console. That looks like it was lifted right out of the G35.

No way ....The interior isn't even close to this 1985 design G35.

Where does the 8-Track go man ???

There's a reason the interior is being overhauled so quickly.

Since you are always bashing Infiniti interiors, I wonder what you think of the new M45 interior... Nothing to bash there at all IMO... I think it's about on par with the new RL interior

I think whoever said it was more Nissan-ish maybe meant this interior???

From the pictures, this new RL looks like a Mazda3 competitor. It looks way too young and the profile makes the car look small, despite its real size. In fact it looks like Toyota Corolla to me. But still good looking, just not luxury looking.

Compare the RL interior to the M45 interior, which is a much better comparison than a G35c. To me they are about on the same level.

I know.. I was seriously just curious as to what you thought of that interior since I know you usually aren't a fan at all of any Nissan/Infiniti interiors

LOL

Acura the brand itself, DVD navi, Variable valve timing, HID's in the entry level............ At least try to appear the slightest bit unbiased dude. You seem to have forgotten how Lexus started out, by offering their version of german luxury marks, but at a much lower price.

I doubt the price of the new will be in the high 50s, if in the sub 50', there will finally be an Acura I would consider stepping up to.

Yes, the M45 interior you pictured looks pretty good. I’ll admit that.
Much better then anything they offer right now.

Well they need to listen to different feedback. If they listen to a consumer asking for a manual and the car is still discontinued something is wrong with this picture.

VTEC and Variable Valve TIming is different. VTEC kicks in at certain RPMs, VVTi is always on. Lexus had HIDs in 98, the TL followed in 99 (Where they got stolen and ripped out the cars 2 weeks later). I'll give Acura NAV. The new RL steps up the NAV game again.

No one is biased, you need to know your facts before you start knocking me down bub.

its nice but not exactly what i expected...

the thing that doesnt seal the deal 4 me is the exterior, everything else (cept maybe that wood selection) looks good...the car is a a nice fender flare set (i.e. new tl) from looking even better...also, the headlights are a bit 2 big i wish they were a tad bit sleeker i.e. like the new tl

on paper the car seems 2 be able 2 hold its own w/the m35, gs330 etc....but in person the outside looks underwhelming....i mean supposedly this car can handle its ass off so why not refelect that in the exterior design?

I'm in.
Unsure, that is an actual issue I am having. Maybe get the AWD GS 330 instead of the GS 430 RWD. It seems the hybrid high performance M/AMG competitor Lexus GS will be the GS 350GT, the V-6 AWD with the electric motor, not the V-8.

Then I am not sure how the aftermarket will respond to the new AWD GS 330. I truly have no clue at this point. Not to mention haven't seen the car in person yet.

ur down in the atl, so i'm sure weather isnt a big factor as it is here up in N.east...hopefully w/in a few months we get more sold info on the GS

btw, the new m45 is nice but styling wise (besides the headlights)....it looks awkward imo

the tails are weird and i dunno, the side profile is funnie....i'd see my self in a gs before seeing myself in that

I'll have to see both in person. If the M45 came with a manual, that provides a very compelling reason to switch brands. As I am a happy Lexus owner and the next GS continues their tradition of anticipating my wants, why switch? Both are good looking cars.
Dropping 50k in a car, panache and BRAND and image do come into play, a L E X U S speaks volumes. Buying an Infiniti where everyone spells it Infinity says alot. Shallow? Maybe but just what buyers think about at this price range.

Weather, even in the snow RWD was not an issue (I'm from NY like u) it's about tires and driving ability and dos and don'ts.

darrinb, actually, yes the hell I have. WHite with red leather is so me. I love the car, it is everything I would do to a stock car. Maybe only switch the wheels out (and the stock M3 joints are fine). I have fallen in love with the M3 CSL (which we can't freaking have).

There are a couple of guys on Clublexus with a GS and M3. I can see where they are coming from.

Even the E36 M3 is pimp and very trackable, since it's lighter.
