Eric, let me know if you ever want a hand messing with stereo stuff on the TJ.

Obligatory Jeep pics from my 3 day camping trip last weekend. Need to start going with other people so I can get some action shots

Nice BEET, I wish I could go camping. It's too damn cold up in the mountains right now.

I can not for the life of me get an aftermarket HU to work in my TJ, I'm ready to just sell it and rock the tape deck, any ideas?

What kind of problems are you having? It should be a pretty straight forward install for a head unit...

walkthrough here (start after step 4):

It got down to about 30 up where I was...not too bad, but I'm used to Phoenix, so I froze my ass off the first two nights. Third night I drank about 27 beers so I didn't feel a thing

I've done them before, and used to have a carputer setup, so I'm not a complete noob to wiring.

I can't seem to get any power to the speakers though, the unit will turn on, read CDs, flip through radio stations, but I just can't get any sound to the speakers.

I installed the Sylvainia(sp?) Silverstar headlamps yesterday since I can't really spend the money on the HID kit yet and wow, what a difference. I'm pretty impressed at the difference they made. I thought I was shooting myself in the foot by doing it w/o upgrading the harness first but no, it was totally worth it. They are great headlights.

Thought I'd share... I found this site with one hell of a trail list in it. Mostly CO and UT but still, pretty cool non the less.

http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php

Lot's of descriptions, directions, and great pics.

Enjoy.

I've done several of the AZ trails on that site. I'd like to do some 4wheeling up in your neck of the woods one day.

Yeah, I've personally done China Wall before as well as a couple others on that list. The hardest one I've been to but not driven was Mt. Blanca. That trail is CRAZY! Lots of cliff and very tippy. I have some scary video from that one.

I saw a wrangler this morning with LED tailights. What was funny was that they lite up as smilie faces.

I got a chuckle out of it.

I was on another Yamaha shoot in Tennessee in October. The producers rental car was a new loaded grand cherokee...I had to break off the unit to shoot some extra footage so she tossed me her keys, and wellllll I couldnt help myself

Sunflower mine, about 20 miles sw of Payson. There's a thread at the other place about it.

We need to go out soon. Weather has been awesome!

Yeah, the Jeep is pretty fun in the snow.

On that note, I found a Liberty 2 or 3 room SUV tent that I'm getting as well as a swing away rear bumper mount spare tire carrier. I found a guy thats selling one over on the Jeep forum. Probably going to have it painted body color since everything else is that way on the Classic.

I think I'm also about to order my lift as well. I've decided to go with a 3" Rusty's full pack lift and run 31's. I was going to go bigger but I'm going to start with this since I do a lot of highway driving right now and because I'd like to keep the Ravine wheels on it. If and when I decide to move back down to Col. Springs, I'll probably add a couple more inches to it and everything else that goes along with it. Now if I can just get Marty at Rocklizard Fab. to call me back about an install!

It's been snowing like crazy here the last couple of weeks. There's so much snow in our parking lot at my office, my usual spot is covered in snow. So I've been parking on top of it all week....

The other day...

This is today behind my office..

Last night AFTER I shoveled the walk way outside my condo twice before I took this...

And finally, keeping the beer cold...

I know a lot of that isn't Jeep related but I thought I'd share just how much it's been snowing. It's still coming down right now and it's not supposed to stop until Sat. or Sun.

Oh man, I've just about had it with snow here. It wouldn't be so bad but we have been getting hit so hard this winter. That snow pile I'm parked on above is still there and I'm still parking on it. According to the forcast, we're gonna get it again tomorrow thru Sat. or Sun.. It's always on the damn weekends. I want to wash my Jeep already!

I'm 2 seconds away from calling Mother Nature and telling her where to go.

That is what makes it somewhat impressive. I agree its not all that 'extreme', but for a stock Cherokee that was pretty good.

Obstacles at the top of a steep hill are nerve wracking... screw up and you have a long tumble back down.

Yeah, it is stock. And like Beet said, thats what makes it fairly impressive.

Personally, I wouldn't have done it, especially w/out a spotter pointing me in the right direction.

I do agree though, it wasn't like it was a totally extreme boulder crawling climb or anything. It was just that fact that there wasn't much room for error.

I wonder how many people watch that jeep commercial (the one where the lady climbs one wheel onto a boulder) go out and get a jeep just to do that very same thing.

Sorry if this was already discussed, I'm new to the boards and didn't feel like reading the other 12 pages for this thread.

I'm not meaning to gang up at all. Hell, if anything, I am a little jealous. I wish I had a Jeep so that I could do stuff like that. I almost bought one, but got cold feet and ended up getting another Acura. I should have bought the Jeep . . .

I just flipped my LTD WJ with every option on it, and revos and a lift and a grill guard and some things done to the engine. Jeeps are fun and wheeling is fun- but there is never any where to go- which does not justify getting 12.5 mpg for a few thrills a year
