Nice MG, a girl I dated in Houston in the 80's had a BRG drop top MG with a plate on the front that said "Arrive Stoned" lol

She still needs some work, but getting there. Just a couple mechanical issues to sort before I can start addressing aesthetics.

Random find at Home Depot.
Top down, always, unless it's raining.
Didn't get over 100* yesterday, so it was great. Temps were probably high 80s when I took the photo, late morning.

No, just to avoid getting soaked when stopped.
But, it probably leaks, too.

Took my 91 RHD Legend from Dallas to Lexington for NALM 2023, prob the longest drive it's ever been on. Imported from Japan last year & it's been thru some resto to get it to this point. Has ~35k miles on it now (57,000km), drives like a new car.

Yep! Always forget i'm not on the g2 boards! All g2 rhd are auto unfortunately.
Thanks! Considered it but not on this car, too clean of an example. Got a few folks who want to buy it, so it may not be with me much longer. I have another rhd in poor shape that i've been thinking about swapping tho, shouldn't be too hard to do. Remote clutch master and pedal mounting would be the tricky parts.

I initially was disappointed Dolomite Silver got discontinued for '23 model year 992T's and switched to GT Silver instead. I'm no longer sorry about this choice, love the shine!

@Chief F1 Fan Have you had to touch up your paint? Mine is GT Silver and I took a rock that went through my PPF and hit the paint. I got the little touch-up bottle from Porsche, it was significantly darker than the original paint. The PPF shop guys all scratched their heads and I decided that I’d rather wipe it off and just PPF over the ding.
Anyways, just curious if you had a similar experience.
Have a great Labor Day weekend everyone!

No dings, no PPF either, just ceramic coated. Sorry to hear your ding didn't get repaired accurately.

What's the plan for it? K-swap?
#2668
Three Wheelin'
First I'll have to strip it down to the bare shell, which shouldn't take me to long to complete. Then it's off for paint and body work. Then I'll put it back together with a black '92 Si interior and a B series swap.
I do have plans for a K in the future, but I'll probably do that to a 5th or 6th gen sedan. You can still find the sedan's unmodified, running and driving for not much money, The hatches are a lot more rare these days. This shell turned up locally, so I had to jump on it.

Blazin: your avatar is distracting me, stop it!
Those short wheelbase hatch are amazing and as you said, gotta jump on it.
I also really like the foliage with the creek / pond property pics. And another + for the RL in the garage, nice setup you have there!
Honestly you can’t go wrong with that chassis as long as you keep it light!

Thanks, I had/have a '92 Si that I was building in the early 2000's. It was totaled shortly after the motor was assembled and I never really got to enjoy it. I've kept it all this time and it's definitely a relic from that time period. It has some aftermarket parts have been long discontinued, but it should make for a good donor car.
I always regretted getting an Si due to the added weight from the sunroof. This new shell is a DX model, so I don't have to think about that anymore.

Sorry to hear your project got totaled and you didn’t get to enjoy it, hopefully this time you’ll make up for lost time!

how bad were the bumps?
#2674
Three Wheelin'
@Chief F1 Fan it wasn’t as bad as I expected. The worse is the second half of turn 17, front straight and turn 1, rest of it is fine. Maybe a few rough concrete joints between 15 and 16, but again not as bad as I expected. If you go hard into 17 you’ll hop sideways, also turn 1 near the end has some bumps. I can’t make the October event, but planning to go back in November.
I spoke with some folks there and all that have driven Watkins Glen said it is very high on their list of favorite tracks. You’re lucky to have that as your local venue
Unfortunately, my second to last session on my second day I went into limp mode and stayed that way until I got it to a local garage. Turned out a spark plug went bad, but they changed the coils too. It’s back home and running well.

Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as it looks on tv. I have some friends who are pro racers and they all say Sebring is brutal. If you want to drive the Glen next year (end of May) and wish to stay informed about it use this link: www.niagarapca.org You could join them (free) as well. There's an instructor that comes up from near Sebring every year 2-3x to run a hot Cayman. Glad your car was a relatively simple fix and yes, I am very lucky to have WGI as my local venue.

Three Wheelin'
Right, if you are really going for a lap time and there is a purse and a trophy in it, it’s different, some of the curbs are harsh, several of the curbs if you overshoot the car will bottom out. A friend of mine put 2 wheels off and bent 2 rims on his gt3 this past weekend. Also, like I mentioned, turn 17 and turn 1 are on the airport taxi lane so, it’s very old and junctions aren’t smooth, but if you go through it without leaning too hard on the tires, it didn’t feel too bad. One thing that was noticeable was the heat. The Feels Like index was 104F.

great shots, great car @PhilB81 . What a blast! I cannot wait until next Monday-Tuesday to be back at the Glen. Hope it doesn't rain bc they require windows to be down while running. COTA is probably a blast but too far away. I'd love to run Mid-Ohio, VIR, & Mosport for starters.

@Chief F1 Fan excellent list you have there! I hope to be able to get to those later in life when my kids are a bit older and I can extract myself from family duties. Speaking of COTA, wife and I started talking about returning to the f1 race there.
regarding windows down in the rain, I’d rather eat the event registration fee then get that sludge in the car. I did one Autocross in the pouring rain at an airfield and being a PCA event, they let us run windows up. Also, at the sebring HPDE, also PCA, folks were running AC on + windows up even though no rain…
below are some pics of the crud on the car, I would not want that in the car…
