Three Wheelin'
I have seen my share of those and some with 300K or even 500K.
Now what would impress me the most is seeing a spreadsheet of repair costs including warranty repairs from day one; I have one for each of my vehicles. Now that tells me something.
Now they are German and certainly drive a heck of a lot better (I would know), but are they on par with a Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Acura in the long term? My 2013 VW Jetta TDI seriously needed rear brake discs at 12.5K miles. And 4 warranty items got replaced before 23K miles at which point it was bought back due to the VW Dieselgate. My 991.1 GTS had the typical coolant leak at about 3K miles which I repaired myself (series of O-rings), but really? As for the Acura coming up on 5 years old...not a single thing.

To this day, still on the original engine / transmission pushing double it's factory horsepower / torque ... no issues since building it back in early 2018.
As for the A7, it has a stack of maintenance records when I took delivery @ 148k miles - mostly oil changes, needed a top end replacement due to oil consumption, and several cooling issues like thermostats / waterpumps, and supercharger services.
All par for the course for the 3.0T.
If you want reliability, get something simple / boring .. I ain't about that life

Little by little I've been trying to work on all 3 of my vehicles. The Vossens HF-5 are back on the M40i. I installed the oem X3M rear spoiler, which looks incredible. As for my other X3, it had a full paint correction, ceramic coating and part of the front end clear wrapped. My TL needs some work. So I've been picking at it little by little. Did some maintenance a few days ago and took time to clean up the engine bay. At some point, I'll be swapping the WORK's back on.

Interesting to see all the differences between the X3s, the M [obviously] much more aggressive.

There's quiet the difference. More so that the M40i is modified. Stock vs stock, there's still a noticeable difference. I love them both. Such great vehicles. I'm still on the fence over the refresh 2022 models. I'm not digging the exterior changes. The interior is better though the screen is a tad too big now.

But agree on the exterior tho... it is weird (The front bumper and rear tails). But could have been A LOT worse (see the new X7, 7 series and 4 series)
BMW has a new unique way to define aggressiveness nowadays that many just dont understand.

Lots of maintenance items completed. It was time for a proper wash before being tucked away under the cover. 18 years old and still near flawless condition.

It's pretty ridiculous what they're selling for now.
Mine will never fetch crazy money due to the mileage (bought with 95k miles 7 years ago, now 149k) but it's nice to see them appreciating. Even with my mileage I could get all of my money back, plus some. And I thought I overpaid back in 2015

But back in 2015, they were either beat to shit, bad CARFAX, and modded to hell for like $12k, or pristine showroom examples for $30k. I wish yours was available when I was looking!

Funny how everything has changed. It's great for the S2000's to be worth a lot of money, even in less than ideal condition or mileage. I'm still confident a few clean, low mileage 3rd gen TL's will sell high. This 2004, in less than ideal condition, but low mileage & 6MT still did well. Almost sold for 14K.. https://carsandbids.com/auctions/9ld...65wRemb1dcFLO0
If it had less body damage, paint in better condition, possibly a few more options like Navigation and the A-spec package, it could have sold for higher. Maybe 16K?
I had another offer for my TL. Great for the year but not enough to actually consider letting go. We are in sellers market, things are at an all time high. Many understand this, yet some still are price bashing. Truth is, everything has a price. There is someone willing to pay that price. I know what my number is to sell the TL. Will I get it? Honestly, I don't know and I won't until it's listed on the appropriate website(s). Wifey already said if someone offers like 20K she would accept the deal.. You already know what she will buy in it's place.
