A new thing I have been doing more often lately - which stemmed from me losing the diffuser earlier this year - is taking the diffuser off and extending the white card thing, with the flash pointed up or at a slight forward angle. Here is an example with the card bounce - it almost gives an effect of the flash not being on the camera - the light looks like its coming from higher up (look at the shadows):

and i know what you mean by pointing the flash straight up and bouncing off the ceiling, i usually do that if its a white ceiling and low enough. the picture of the guy break dancing was done using that technique.
except my 430ex doesnt have the white card thing built in so i just use my school newspaper press pass which is white on the back and a red rubber band

regarding the card, its the end result that matters, not how you get there. so
on the rubber band trick.

necessity is the mother of invention.. just installed Wordpress 2.5.1 with gallery2 and flickr plugins on srika.com.. really liking this integrated flickr set option with Lightbox pic viewing. It resizes the pics very well and you can use the arrow keys to go through the pics - always wanted that. Also added shopping cart and will have printing capability through a number of websites.

I'm sure the ratio will be good, but not as good as last Friday. Every girl LOVES Kendra and their show. With Tara, you either love her or hate her. Most girls treat her as a skanky hoe.
BUT.....It looks like it's a bikini beach party, so the girls that will be there will be in bikini's. I say do it!!! haha
